Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Magic / tragic summed up my round today. The rust was evident in the front 9. Quad triple 4xDouble and 3 bogeys for a 54... ouch, was scared I might not break 100. Back 9 it started to come together better. Drive was playable, some nice approaches, hit some GIR or fringes at least... still burned th...

Re: Club fitting with the Club Fix in Costa Mesa

I shot 54 in the first 9. That is what I expected. Rusty. A quad, a triple, 4 doubles and 3 bogeys. I shot 39 on the back 9 though, so 93 total... happy with that. Especially with a 2 ft tap in for birdie on the par 5 28th to finish. Feel so much more comfortable on my irons / wedges now. And workin...

Truth.
Although I heard the ball is the reason Rory went to Taylormade, they bullied him into a full deal.
I guess balls do matter ;)

Re: Club fitting with the Club Fix in Costa Mesa

Got the clubs, hit them at the driving range, they feel so good.

Going to big time mess up my yardages etc.
Going to go out tomorrow with them for 1 round before I head to NZ... haven’t played in a while, it’s going to be fun and terrible at the same time.

Expect a bad score tomorrow

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I'm pissed. The retailer contacted me AFTER the club (Titleist 818H2 21* hybrid) was supposedly "on the way" and told me that he doesn't have that club to sell me anymore and had refunded my account. Evidently, he oversold it. He had a bunch of them listed on Ebay and sold more than he actually had...

Club fitting with the Club Fix in Costa Mesa

Mark Parish is often on the GolfHolics videos, worked at the Club Fix in Costa Mesa, so supporting the club agnostic little guy and friend of the show just seemed right. I made it down there after not touching a golf club in a month or more. It was a super informative learning experience. I like wat...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

First time I have touched a golf club in over a month ( i think, feels like a year ) yesterday, I got fit at the Club Fix. Awesome experience, will share more later, but I just dropped the hammer on some new irons. Replacing my 9 year old Taylormade R9s with some Callaway Rogues. • Set Composition :...

Re: One Week In April: 2019 Masters Tournament Thread

Haters - there's the door :) It was awesome, I was at a safari park with the kids, but the best part was when I saw that molanari choked in the water and 5-time Masters Champion Tiger was putting for birdie on 16th, this is where I was... Re: One Week In April: 2019 Masters Tournament Thread

Early start - perfect, i'll wake up early and watch before the kids get up and we head to the Safari Zoo here in San Diego. I sent taylormade an IG about a 5-time Masters Champion Tiger watching and winning party at their headquarters, since I'm in Carlsbad right now... that would be legit :P

left 3 hanging yesterday, and 16 17 and 18 to close off, let alone 2 more that should have gone too. Although he made some good ones. Moving day tomorrow... this could be interesting. I was surprised that Brooks, Bryson and Phil who started good fell apart this morning... I thought they were going t...

Re: One Week In April: 2019 Masters Tournament Thread

5-time Masters Champion Tiger could be 3 or 4 under if he sunk a couple of those short putts.
Interesting, loving the masters.
My weekend viewing time will be almost zero, so that saddens me, but I'm making the most of it now.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

And let's face it, many long bombers of the ball (like you GPickin), not playing at a high Am or pro level, have some trouble controlling those bombs. Yeah, i hear you. I definitely don't try to swing out of my shoes on the golf course, like i do on the range :P I would give up 20 yards to be strai...

I have the 2nd gen M2 3Hybrid, but have thought about ordering the 07 burner 3H just because of the way I love the 4h.
I wonder how much of the club is in the shaft, the shafts make such a difference in the feel etc.
I can't wait until I can go and get fit.

Re: Old Ass Clubs

I have a Cleveland VAS putter that I got in 1997 that works it way in and out of my bag depending on green conditions. I tend to like it now when I know I am playing on slower greens. Permanently in my bag is a 2007 Taylor Made Burner 4 hybrid. I also have the driver which makes appearances in my b...

Just ponied up some $$ for the Shotscope V2 GPS watch. They've got it for $90 off through MGS.

Here is the 2nd Long Drive Video - with brand new Bridgestone White Practice balls - a little better connection, much better ball speeds etc ( this was recorded like 10 mins after the first one, but much different numbers. )

I chose the short irons since thats my weakness, and giving myself a tap in is always a buzz. The 15 footer left from longer iron is nice, but not quite the same.

I do it for the golf Kern site. Trying to build a community site for golfers and courses etc. I am trying to promote the local courses and their events. Doing the videos too, yeah crazy I know but it might get me more ins and more free golf and perks. Wait until I get the drone footage etc going too.

Re: I still cannot chip

I think the hinge complicates the swing, i try not to, unless i'm going for a full flop.
Chipping not flopping, i do better when i keep the Y in my arms and not break the wrists on the way back or forward.

Here are the photos from the Seven Oaks Country Club tournament I played in last week.
I added the hole maps too, to make it easier to envision the hole from the photos.
