Re: Jfurr Thread

Daylight savings time, finally. Going to be hitting the range after work a few times this week. Gotta see where my swing is to get ready for the annual buddy trip to the beach! Same deal as always - rent a big beach house, ryder cup over the weekend, then 3 days hcp stroke play, extreme drinking, a ...

Re: Live music--what is it good for?

I've been trying to post an update from the Pixies / Weezer show I went to tonight, with a pic of my backstage meet and greet after show pass for Pixies but the image posting I can't seem to to get working :(

Anyway, the show was great, but Pixies left early so we had no backstage visit :(

Re: Live music--what is it good for?

Gather round children and I will tell you about the Beatles. I think Fish is referring to the 1969 rooftop concert from "Let It Be". But Beatles fans do not mourn such an occasion. The Beatles ceased to be a live performance act following their show at Candlestick Park in 1966. They made a collecti...

Re: Live music--what is it good for?

I might go see The Descendents tonight. I've outgrown that kind of music, but they were one of my favorites when I was a teenager. and I'm bachelor tonight...

Other concerts coming up on my list: TEEN, Spiritualized, Beck + Cage the Elephant + Spoon, Chicano Batman, Tyler Childers

Re: BMW Performance Center

I drove a total of 5 different M models on three different track types/ challenges. On the road track we had the M2 Competition package, M4, and M5 with all wheel drive. We drove them at speed, as fast and violently as I could handle. The instructor does a sighting lap where you essentially walk th...

Re: BK needs to visit Hellabama

Yeah it went right past airport over my neighborhood but it must have been way up in the sky because it wasn’t even windy outside. Then it dropped lower as it crossed the river and did some damage. Nothing like in Alabama.

BMW Performance Center

I had the Chance last Friday to attend the BMW Performance Center in Greer SC for a corporate seminar/outing. Basically we watched a marketing presentation from a sponsor, ate lunch, then went out and drove several hundred thousands of dollars of high performance autos. It was better that I expected...

Re: weather, I watched in fear as the TV alerts came in and they showed doppler radar of a “rotation” as it quickly went over my house. It was way up the sky though. It touched down nearby at the Columbia Zoo.

BK : Capitol Hill is great, you’ll love it.

Re: Jfurr Thread

Country Club of Charleston - I have friends and in-laws who live in the Riverland Terrace neighborhood which is walking distance to the course. At the moment that weekend is open. But I doubt it'll stay that way. I'm burning the candle at both ends with work which is busier than ever plus my music s...

I don't know... sometimes I get tickets to the pro events around here through work connections and get to go! That sounds interesting. I'm going to look up where it is being held. I'm going to guess Bulls Bay. BRB

Re: Anyone seen this in NYC or other large cities?

Stupid and clumsy transportation. One of the local Austin breweries we went to had an ale, which I think maybe was called something like "corner scooter dumpster pile" or something like that.

Re: Anyone seen this in NYC or other large cities?

The annoying thing I’m seeing around places, Austin and Atlanta in particular, are the little electric “Bird” scooters that you rent by the hour. There are piles of them on street corners.

For a while there was a group of “crust punks” around here that built their own crazy double decker bikes and would strut them around

Re: 2018 Goals

Aside from my beach trip, trying to think did I even play golf this year? I think you also played Charwood once. You were in the clubhouse at least, you sent me a pic of a pic of Charlie Daniels. Oh yeah -- haha. Yeah I played it a few times to scope it out since they changed it from 27 to 18 holes...

That's funny on my last podcast episode the guests were talking about seeing Kiss on the farewell tour 18 years ago or something.

BTW look up "Cola Town Underground" on your podcast thing if you wanna check out our stuff

There is a new “Top Golf” “Swing Suite” simulator place here in town. It seems to be a virtual version of the big places. Like a bar/restaurant with a few golf simulators. Think I’ll pass.
