Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Shot an 81 Thursday, but the important factor is that it was at TPC Sawgrass. Hideously expensive but a really neat experience. Best I've played on a Marquee course - decided to take my medicine whenever I was out of position really only two bad holes, unfortunately one of those was #17. Difficult ...

Re: 2019 Fall Support Group Thread

Fall golf is currently suspended. We had 9-10 inches of snow yesterday. No immediate warm up is forecast. I did go out and play my Winter home course, Fox Hills Classic last weekend, twice. It was cold but playable walking.Always surprising how briskly walking warms one up so 36 degrees seems nice. ...

Re: 2019 Fall Support Group Thread

Turf is lush but soft and often muddy. Greens generally a bit slower but not fuzzy yet. Our 10 day forecast has highs in the 30's and there is talk of a bit of snow on the grassy areas.

Re: 2019 Fall Support Group Thread

We sort of jumped from highs in the 60's to highs in the 40's. Weather has been generally shitty. I have had a bit of trouble with slow groups. Today I had to watch every shot of a twosome until they let me through on #6. Then had to play 14 to 18 and then 10 to 13. The solace of having to juggle th...

Re: The Grumble Thread

... I would have walked to another hole, preferably ahead of them, and gone back later to finish any I had skipped to get away from them. Yes, an excellent strategy. Unfortunately, while there are places on this course to "jump", the closing holes are not configured to allow this without a cart. Or...

Re: The Grumble Thread

Yesterday was a bit marginal for golf. When I rolled into Hudson Mill's parking lot it was 49 degrees, light rain, steady 20 mph wind with gusts to 35 mph. There were literally 2 golfers on the course when I teed off at 10:30am. I saw the two guys and their cart on the 11th tee when I was putting ou...

With the travel, I can barely stay awake until 9:00pm. No way am I staying awake to watch Asian golf. And I don't record stuff as I never have time to watch recorded material.

Re: 2019 summer support group

Summer Retrospective I played like crap for much of the summer, save several weeks in July/August. My tournament play was meh. The few decent tournament rounds were lost to higher handicappers having a better day. Right now my round count stands at 89, which is lower than most of the past decade. Wh...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

It had been 1 month since I managed to break 80. 14 effing rounds shooting 80 to 91 every time. And it wasn't like I was hitting the ball well and just not scoring. I was chopping and fatting my way toward mediocrity. When I decided to venture out last Saturday, I had no expectations of ending the s...

Re: The Grumble Thread

Hey, let's grumble! Our foursome was following a threesome all day last week. They were just slow enough to never get within sight of the twosome ahead of them. So the twosome dawdled along just slow enough to never push the twosome ahead of them. And so it went, a 5+ hour round on Thursday morning....

When I am playing poorly, I sometimes feel like tossing a club. I always stop because with my aim, I would likely hit myself! ;)

Re: 2019 summer support group

... My game is still deep in the shitter. I'm totally lost. Confused. Not an ounce of confidence or a bit of tempo or rhythm to my swing. I can only hope something changes for the better soon. Right now I feel like an 18-handicapper, with no business playing from the blue tees. It's bad. Really bad...

Turncoat that I am, I was cheering for the Euros to spank the USA. Mission accomplished. All looked to be lost when Europe had to take the last three matches outright in order to win. Nice ending for Europe and Suzann Pettersen.

Betty, can you help me? L.P.G.A. The "L" is for Lesbian and the "G" is Gay. "A" is Association. What would "P" stand for and who is this Nordqvist person?

Some golf dweeb wrote today's NYT.

16-across: "Nordqvist of the L.P.G.A."

28-down: "Green-conscious grp"

Good thing "Anna" is a common name, else there'd be all these old people throwing their newspapers on the floor muttering "LPGA?!?!".
:up A very apt observation.
