Re: 2019 summer support group

... My game is still deep in the shitter. I'm totally lost. Confused. Not an ounce of confidence or a bit of tempo or rhythm to my swing. I can only hope something changes for the better soon. Right now I feel like an 18-handicapper, with no business playing from the blue tees. It's bad. Really bad...

Re: 2019 LPGA Tour

Turncoat that I am, I was cheering for the Euros to spank the USA. Mission accomplished. All looked to be lost when Europe had to take the last three matches outright in order to win. Nice ending for Europe and Suzann Pettersen.

Solheim Cup 2019

Well, the teams are in Scotland. I am underwhelmed by the collective accomplishments of both teams over the past 2 years.

Betty, can you help me? L.P.G.A. The "L" is for Lesbian and the "G" is Gay. "A" is Association. What would "P" stand for and who is this Nordqvist person?

Some golf dweeb wrote today's NYT.

16-across: "Nordqvist of the L.P.G.A."

28-down: "Green-conscious grp"

Good thing "Anna" is a common name, else there'd be all these old people throwing their newspapers on the floor muttering "LPGA?!?!".
:up A very apt observation.

"... but this is Grigor's moment, not my body's," Federer said.

I was hoping to see Feds win another U.S. Open. Still, his reaction shows why he is the classiest athlete of our time.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I have had a mini recovery from what seems like a 2 year slump. Shot a 78 at my "home" course today. https://clubsg.skygolf.com/golfers/score.php?c=20612&viewHole=1&mode=tracked&id=23177004&rid=1936786&loadHoleSelector=0 I started slow and did not have good feel for the greens and the chipping speed...

Re: Random golf thoughts

I have no problem paying less than the full rate. I still recall the shock when a course gave me a senior discount (Age 50!!) years ago. Now I always announce, "One senior citizen walking 18" and wait for the good news. I was carded until well into my 40's but at 67, no one bothers unless they have ...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

I doubt I will play tomorrow and I am working today. The month is over golfwise. I just finished our three day Tournament near Torch Lake , MI. I played just okay. On the first day, I found myself in a fairway bunker 100 very uphill yards to the green. Hit a very solid wedge to 10 feet and made the ...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Well, appears I am blowing all my social security on golf-related equipment. Two years ago I purchased a Sun Mountain Ultra Light Stand Bag (5--something or other). I had always coveted Sun Mountain bags but they were too pricey for Mr. Bargain Basement. There was a special on a site for the Sun Mou...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I turned back the clock yesterday. I have played Hudson Mills for 30+ years. Lately it seemed like I was miles shorter off the tee and always had to hit hybrids and fairway woods into many of the greens. Not yesterday. The course (and I) finally played like the old days. Yes, I choked badly coming d...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

According to Shot by Shot so far this year I am a 13 driving handicap, 11 approach and 4 putting. Today's round: driving 4, approach 3, putting 22. 14 GIRs and 11 fairways but turned it into a +5 75 with four three putts and several missed 5 footers. Satisfying yet frustrating. I hear you. Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

I am not playing today so July is in the books. Unlike prior months, I played fairly well so there are a number of candidates. I am going to go with my 4th shot on the par 5 16th hole at Leslie Park yesterday (7/30). My friends and I (8 handicap) play a best ball with a different partner every 6 hol...
