Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Assume Shinnecock was just another private course located in central NJ and never hosted a US Open. You have an opportunity to join. The dues are a bit high because they maintain a set of tees @ 7,500 yards and they tend to set the course up a bit on the difficult side with shaved green approaches, ...

Re: 2018 summer support group

After three weeks of struggling with back problems I finally got back on the course today. 24°C, little bit windy, terrific weather. We could even play through, no flight in view in front of us and a full hole gap between us and the fligh starting after us after three holes. Yay! Anyway, at the 8th...

A roll of lead tape from the online everything mart (aka Amazon).
Going retro with lead tape on the toe (or heel). I like it. Everyone else in the golf world just loosens the dial on the driver shaft or the sole weights and adjusts it. :thumbs

Re: Short Putts

I think we all agree that in a tournament or where something is on the line and there is an agreement to putt out, we all putt out. We have a regular twilight round on Tuesdays. It is virtually a practice round as the other guys move the ball, hit 2nd balls, etc... We try to move fast, jump around, ...

Re: Backstopping/Collusion controversy in pro golf

So when I play in tournaments my decision is based on how quickly the other player tends to play their shots. If I can get the ball and mark it w/o interrupting their routine or getting in their way then I do so. If I know they are quick I stay out of their way unless I know it won't bother them. S...

I have been complaining about my game this year. Tonight it is Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox. Not sure what to expect but it should be interesting.

Re: Interacting with Your Playing Partners

Agree, walking allows one to interact or wander off. I dislike cart riding except for pretty close buddies because the "other guy" often is not tuned into what I would like in a "partner".

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

How about a sequence of shots - yesterday shanked a wedge from about 35 yards -hit the green but then rolled off. Chipped the next one in to save par - hate this game. At least you saved par. I hate rolling in an 80 footer or chipping in for an "8". Yes, an "8" is better than a "9" but really, who ...

. I know there are some real players in the Publinx in the two states I have lived in. I am assuming you need to be a certain level index or lower to get in. At least I think that's how it was in ours. We have a Michigan Publinx Golf Association. They cater to very good players. They run a "Scratch...

Our group will stay at A-Ga-Ming Resort and play the Sundance course on day 1 & 3 with a visit to Belvedere on D...

Describe Your Best Shot of the Month - MAY

We were scouting the locations for our Senior Open Amateur tournament at the end of August. On May 31 we were playing the Sundance course near Elk Rapids/Charlevoix. I was playing with our local golf legend, Jim Briegel. 93 years old, member of the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame, and still a heck of a p...

GBogey's Move

I must have missed the discussion. Can someone direct me to the thread so GBogey doesn't have to respond again to all the questions I would likely pose?

If there is no thread and he just mentioned in passing a move, then get ready for the 52 questions.
