Re: Sort of Humorous

If you can smile when things go wrong you have someone in mind to blame. Take my advice. I'm not using it. My wife and I were happy for twenty years then we met. Hospitality is the art of making guests feel like they're at home when you wish they were. Behind every great man is a woman rolling her e...

Well, things were interesting through the 12th hole. Then there was a slight pause in the march to victory. :facepalm

The high today was 45 degrees. Breezy, cloudy and then it rained for my last 9 holes. I pushed on since tomorrow is forecast to be worse. It has been a while since I played in the rain. Keeps the crowds down. :yess

Sorry, the only major is the Ann Arbor Men's Golf Championship. And sadly I am now like all the other seniors; my only hope is the Ann Arbor Senior Championship ... Super Senior division. :facepalm

Nice 3rd round. Did not see any of it but it appears the course is tough for a lot of the players - except Phil who shoots 64.

---2 holes into the round---they are down 8 balls and one Worthington Manor cart. This may have to be the opening line of the novel I am writing in my head. :thumbs We have all had the misfortune of playing with bozos, but I must admit, none quite achieved the level of bozoness that your two friend...

Re: Interesting TV/Streaming

We have been watching a series on Acorn (BBC) called "Vera". Entertaining if one likes British crime dramas. The guilty one is typically the person one would least suspect so we have fun guessing ... "The guy washing his hands in the Police rest room" ... "no, no, the cab driver who was on camera fo...

... I liked it because they both played so well down the stretch, both very poised under what had to be intense pressure (it had been a while since each of their last wins), in other words nobody puked on herself, if you will. Exactly. Down the stretch they made saves and birdies and did not back i...

All the Lydia haters, critics, second-guessers and ex-coaches can now officially suck on it.
Yes, she snapped her winless streak fairly emphatically. Minjee Lee made her work for it. That was a heck of a timely bunker hole out. After that I thought Ms Lee was destined to win.

If Justin Thomas plays, follow him, make a few comments and see if you can get on camera being escorted off the course. :thumbs

Re: The Grumble Thread

The playing of music on the golf course is a relatively new phenomenon. I was playing Tuesday and started to make the trek from #9, through a tunnel under the railroad tracks. As I emerged from the tunnel I was met by some heavy bass thump and melodious lyrics blasting from a 4-some playing #3 ("Sha...

Black Women Golfers Run Off the Course

I doubt anyone will ever know all the facts involved in the recent incident in York, PA. I hate how the media jumps on these things. As if a dispute about playing slow on a golf course is equal to shooting an unarmed, law abiding person of color. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/golf/black-woman-gol...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I have struggled in 2018. It has been a challenge to keep the scores under 90. Then, out of nowhere, I do this: https://clubsg.skygolf.com/golfers/score.php?c=20612&viewHole=1&mode=tracked&id=21055510&rid=904895&loadHoleSelector=0 76. When I made birdie on #14 I was even par. Stumbled a bit coming i...

Okay, I am ready to let the "Winter Season Support Group" go for this year. Our weather appears to have turned the corner, although there is not a single leaf on any tree and not a single flower has bloomed other than crocus. Of course, just because we won't have snow or frozen variations of precipi...

The writer doesn't have much of a sense of humor. "It’s worth asking why Americans fell in love with an ad in which one farm animal begs us to kill another in its place."

Yes, the "Eat mor chiickin" slogan can be reduced down to something morbid but I always thought it was sort of clever.

Interesting TV/Streaming

We watched two of the three parts of "Unforgotten" on PBS via streaming. Then discovered there were no more parts available. Panic!!! Fortunately, part three is playing on PBS this Sunday (Masterpiece Mystery). I highly recommend this if you watch detective and/or CSI type shows.

The two 3-time winners were Ms. Feng and Ms. Kim (I-K). Surprising to me was Christie Kerr won twice during that time period. Tied with her were Jutanugarn, Park (Inbee) and Thompson, if I recall correctly, which is always a problem. Which brings me to Yani Tseng. Can a great golfer disappear faster...

I picked IKK, ShanShan, Lexi and Ariya, based on memory. I know Brooke Henderson had at least one, maybe two wins.
Too many but you did name the two ladies with 3 wins (best) during the period.

Listen I don't like it any more than you but Shanshan Feng of China put the smack down on the LPGA in the latter part of 2017.

Crap, another snow day Tuesday. Got around 1-2 inches. While the paved areas cleared by noon, there was still an inch covering our deck this morning and lots of snow on northern slopes and where the sun is blocked - not that we have seen the sun much, either. Another bout of rain/snow is coming this...

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

It rained hard Saturday and then we had an ice storm/sleet Saturday night. The power went out around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. So in addition to being lousy weather for golf, I had to sit around in a dark cold house. Snow flurries currently flying around here this Monday morning and more rain and cold forec...
