Re: Things You Never Knew About The Great Lakes.....

:school Shallower bodies of water tend to experience steeper, breaking waves, not necessarily larger rolling waves, like on an ocean. Steep seas are more difficult to navigate. When wind and current is opposed the waves can build faster and steeper. Though they are lakes, there is still a current. A...

Re: Things You Never Knew About The Great Lakes.....

Why are Lake Erie storms more often worse than those on the other Great Lakes to shipping traffic ? (The Edmund Fitzgerald did not founder on Lake Erie, though.) I seem to remember there have been more shipwrecks on Lake Erie than any of the other lakes. I know the main reason why. :school Can anyon...

Are you playing only Reunion for all rounds or some of the other many great tracks in the area too? Falcon's Fire, Celebration, Champion's Gate, Shingle Creek or any of the Disney courses? You left out the sleeper a little bit out of Orlando, in Haines City, Southern Dunes. Southern Dunes is a grea...

...I travel to Orlando (Reunion Golf Club) for 12 rounds of golf in 6 days. I'm not sure my body would hold up for 36 holes, 6 days in a row anymore. My mind could, but my shoulders and back? NOT! More power to you, BK! Are you playing only Reunion for all rounds or some of the other many great tra...

Which raises the question, "Would you want to know the year you were going to die?"
Absolutely NOT!

As it is, I just assume it could be today. That's enough to get me moving every single day.

Re: February Golf

It's freakin' cold and windy today. A reminder that it IS actually mid-winter, despite how much golf I have been able to play. But, thankfully, back to the high 40s and 50s in a couple days, expected. I read today last month/January (when I got in 18 rounds of golf) was the warmest on record, global...

Re: February Golf

Just played my 6th day in a row. February in Maryland is not acting like it, but I'm not complaining. However, I need a break. I am tired of trekking through the mud everyday out there. It's been cart-path-only all week. The next two days are supposed to be very cold and windy. Yippee! Two days off ...

Re: When are you going to retire?

bkuehn1952 I wish my situation was as you describe, but unfortunately, it is not. I did not sell my business (though I tried), just some of the equipment. I have been doing some writing, but am not making much income. I do enjoy it, though. I write everyday, a few hours a day, mostly early mornings...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

How much do you think it weighs when you have everything you use/store in the bag? I suspect you are more careful about exactly what is in the bag. I have a buddy who tossed all sorts of things into his staff bag. In fact, I would stuff balls I found into his bag. By the end of the season, it would...

My new 2020 Titleist customized Mid-Staff, Team Titleist bag just arrived today. :yess I will proudly have it sit on display in the WM pro shop for the time being until I play in my first competitive event of this season, later in the Spring. It's way too wet and muddy out there now to be using it e...

Re: How Long Have We Been Doing This?

Eventually, when I had a particularly interesting round, I would write a short novel. Hell, I did that every round. I think I got on Oob in 2007 or 2008. I looked all over for my starting date on Oob, but can't find the info anywhere. I know it was shortly after the site went up, which I think was ...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I want to be able to hit a high (4 to 5 feet high) chip that carries about 10 to 12 feet and rolls out about a foot. If I could do that regularly and with confidence, I'd be happy. Not really a chip. That's a mini flop. It's easy with the correct technique and the right wedge. I can explain it, but...

They keep touting 9 of the top 10 players in the world at the Genesis. Looked to see who the missing guy was and pleased to see it's douchey smug faced Webb Simpson. Good riddance. Wow, I don't know many people who don't like Webb. He's not my favorite or anything, but I never had a reason not to l...

Welp, as expected, the masses showed up yesterday for the 65-degree, sun-filled day. It was mobbed. I had originally booked a tee time, but my two partners couldn't make it. (They didn't miss any fun golf. Just a nice day.) So I cancelled it to let the course fill another foursome in. Instead, I wai...

@srogers13 11 rounds in January, or any month for that matter, is great if you don't regularly get to play during the week. :up
Average that every month and you've got 132 rounds for the year. That's phenomenal for a 9-5'er. Good work.

Played 18th round of January today. I'm out there, so yeah, I'm still with you, if that's what you mean. Shot 80. Hit the ball well. Chip in bird on 4th. 42 degrees. No complaints. 54* Sunday, 64* and sun for Monday. 64* forecast Tuesday. Made a tee time already for all three of those days to be saf...

On more than one hole I was hitting driver and fairway wood and coming up short. This must be how some of you guys feel all the time I AM KIDDING. Much truth is spoken in jest. But it is how I often feel when it's 40*, blowing 20 mph and the course is soft. Absolutely. It's how I learned to be pret...
