Re: 2019 summer support group

My wife has had a lot of elbow issues as I have recently (Tennis elbow from playing tennis - doesn't hurt to golf). You need to do the following: Give it a complete rest for 1-2 weeks and probably cut back after that for a few more weeks. Find some exercises / stretches on the internet and do them ...

Re: 2019 summer support group

Yep. It's official. I'm in my annual mid-summer slump. Elbow and thoracic back are affecting my game. Down to playing intermittently, whenever pain isn't too bad. Haven't played more than two days in a row all month. Not even bothering to keep score right now. Mostly playing solo and just hitting sh...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

Nice Phil. To three feet with a 3W is always special, even if your name is 5-time Masters Champion Tiger. Though yours is Phil, so it shouldn't surprise anyone. ;) Speaking of 3Ws, I had a couple great ones myself last week. I made a slight change to my swing after my buddy Bernie pointed out that I...

One thing is clear by now. He managed to win the Masters with a shitty back. Besides Koepka, they all kind of suck!!!
"Suck" is a relative term. I WISH I could suck like even the worst guy on Tour does, or hell, even the worst guy on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Re: 2019 PGA Tour thread

Though it may be moot at this point, but I happen to know for a fact that 5-time Masters Champion Tiger doesn't like playing in the Northeast. Joe LaCava mentioned it we (the members) were hoping he might bring his boss to Oxford Greens for a round one day. I don't think he's a fan of bent grasses.

Re: 2019 PGA Tour thread

The PGA Tour has come to Beef's Landing. Once again I am facing temptations to attend. pros: -ultraconvenient ferry directly from Manhattan to the 12th hole. No stupid shuttle busing necessary for ferry passengers. As far as attending pro golf, don't think access gets any easier than this -chance t...

Re: 2019 summer support group

It seems I've been taking more days off than I'm playing (though actually, probably not). My elbow is not good. I am sure I am doing it no favors by playing at all. Frustrating. I was playing some good golf until a week or so ago, when it really started to bother me. So much so that I knew it would ...

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

Okay JFish, now that you mention it. Here's a good shot of the 2nd hole tee box at WM. It's taken from the black tee box. That's the blue tees ahead in the pic (where I play from). After playing Worthington's tough 390 yard first hole with a forced carry required for your opening shot, this 2nd hole...

Yea! Paula Creamer might make the team. I'll watch just to see her smile. :ohyeah

As a Captain's pick last time, she won big in a huge US comeback. I hope she gets the chance to do so again. I miss seeing her out there in the mix all the time.

Re: 2019 summer support group

I don't know how you do it with the elbow. Since my issues I've played 1 round of golf and maybe picked up a golf club 6 days total. I'm just now getting back to where I'd feel comfortable playing frequently if I wanted to. I guess I'm just not man enough to deal with tennis elbow. This is the OTHE...

Re: 2019 summer support group

Played solo, uninspired golf today. After my 77 yesterday with my regular golf buddy, today was kind of boring. But, played 18 in 2 hours and 15 minutes, without rushing at all. Kind of a blah round, but still respectable. Shot 81. After the round was over, another buddy came along and wanted me to ...

Re: 2019 summer support group

Not depressed at all. Loving the game and trying my damnedest to push through a painful injury that really needs rest to heal, just because I don't want to lose what has been working so well for me of late. I am actually playing some great golf; some of the best of my golf life. But, it gets old tal...

Re: The Open, Chez is 175/1 to win

It was good for N. Ireland. I was hoping Ricky might make a run. But, Lowry deserved to win. Good for him. I have to admit, I did not pay attention that closely once it was clear 5-time Masters Champion Tiger wasn't going to be in the mix. I did watch some on the weekend, though. If it had been unde...

Better option on JFish's idea. If you're like me, you have a bucket of "found" balls sitting in your garage. I have thousands of them. Pick out some of the better ones to use/donate before you head to the range. Then just hit those and leave them out there for the picker. This way you won't be pissi...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Played Musket Ridge on Monday, one of the nicest courses in the area, outside of Worthington. About 20 minutes from my home. Beautiful course, on a par with Worthington, with magnificent views and exquisite conditions. It's only the 2nd time since I moved to Maryland that I have played this course, ...

Re: Random golf thoughts

Okay, it's Sunday night. A whole weekend and no one has any golf stuff to post? It has become quite depressing checking in here lately. Since no one seems to have anything of interest to post, I guess I'll have to try to get the ball rolling again. So I'll just throw some random golf observations an...

Nicely done @DougE ! :up It does seem like we often play up or down to the level of the fellow players. It's so true. The better the player, the better I seem to play. I am usually much more focused. On the other hand, when I play with 15-20 handicappers, I usually play as if it doesn't matter even...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Great round for you yesterday, Spencer. 5 birdies is impressive, plus 61% of GIR. Seems like it could have been even lower, based on the 18th hole score. Was the pressure setting in, knowing you had such a great round going? I know that feeling well. Congrats on a memorable round.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Another 80 for me today. That's three 80s and three 77s in the last week. The 77s make me happy. The 80s, well, not as much, but enough to keep me interested and ready to try again the next day.
