We have been walking closed courses. Fewer people than the nature areas. More interesting scenery.

Is that legal? No judgement here, just curious if this is accepted.

Re: Golf in a Plague Year

Prospects not looking good for golf any time soon. Over the weekend I was thinking of driving a 1/2 hour to one of the nicer courses in Virginia at some point this week, as I am going crazy here. Well, that's out the window. Virginia closed all non-essential businesses yesterday, and MD took their l...

Re: Grocery Shopping & Corona Virus

I brought my dog to the community park a few hours ago, for a little exercise. On the drive over I had a couple licorice-flavored, gummy bear-type candies. "Yeah, so what?," you ask. When we got out of the truck, my pup quickly did her business. Being the responsible dad that I am, I got a poop bag ...

Re: Golf in a Plague Year

You are right bk, no threat to pass Doug for rounds played in March from me here in Delaware. We are still open but .... It amazes me that Delaware is still open for golf, as is Virginia and W. Virginia. NJ is closed, PA is closed, MD is closed, all three of which border tiny little DE. I'm not mad...

Re: Golf in a Plague Year

Well, the Ohio Department of Health shut down all golf courses, so my Sunday round is now cancelled. Sorry Matt. I feel your pain. (I'm on day 6 of our shutdown, with no end in sight yet.) There had been some discussion by management at my club, of aerating the greens while we're shut down, instead...

Re: Spring 2020 Support Group

Good news about dusty23 . I have wondered about him. He was back here for a short time, then poof, he was gone again. How is it that he only has access to the internet at work? It's 2020. Hard to believe anyone can't connect from home these days, or at the very least, their cellphone. Tell him to ge...

Re: Golf in a Plague Year

srogers13 If we don't get the non-essential business restriction lifted here in Maryland over the next couple days, I think you will beat me this month for rounds played. I stand at 17 so far in March, before we got shut down on Monday for, God only knows, how long. I was on track to get in 22 or 2...

Re: Corona Virus Rants and Facts and Rumors

Geez. I didn't realize how valuable my little pair of 10 lbs dumbbells are. I have been using them daily in my pre-golf workout and stretch sessions for the past few years. Funny, just last month I was thinking I should pick up a few barbells for my workout. There was an ad in our online neighborhoo...

Re: Golf in a Plague Year

Snagged a tee time for today at 11:12 and Sunday at 11:04, walking both. I'm off with another member today and out as a single on Sunday...can't wait. This is encouraging that Windmill RE-OPENED after some clarification of guidelines "set forth by the Ohio Department of Health." That might bode wel...

Re: Grocery Shopping & Corona Virus

Well, I've been putting it off all day. Off to two grocery stores and CVS. Got my rubber gloves, an N95 mask if necessary, a mini bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket and my awareness of others around me on full alert. Wish me luck.

You're funny Beef. Not funny-looking or anything. Just funny in your style of writing. I love reading your thoughts. It's been one of the few bright spots of being home due to the Coronavirus. I've got nothing much to do other than read forums. Your posts always make me smile. Hard to do these days.

I know the hybrid produces more consistent results all across the clubface, but come on, hitting a ball flush with an iron feels way better than with a hybrid.
Agreed.

Re: Random golf thoughts

GBOGEY , I'm curious, what's your 7i distance, Phil? I'm guessing similar to mine, which is 155-160 yards in-season off a tee. If so, i believe you should have plenty of SS to play a 5i. Also, my 3W gets a lot of use, mostly off the fairway. Generally, I hit it consistently well. The only time I us...

How about some golf talk?

I haven't carried a 4 iron in a decade. Speaking of 4 irons (as BK just did in the "Describe your best shot of the month" thread), I'm curious, who else here plays a 4i (or even a 3i) and why or why not?" Personally, I absolutely LOVE my 4i. However, up until a year or so ago, before I made some sw...

Re: Corona Virus Rants and Facts and Rumors

All non-essential businesses here have been shutdown under a state government mandate, which evidently includes golf courses. (Seems essential to me! ;) ). However, based on all the emails I have gotten from area courses since the shutdown, it is clear that management at all those courses is trying ...

Re: Corona Virus Rants and Facts and Rumors

Hey, did anyone see that in California, one of the epicenters of Covid-19, their municipal golf courses (in LA) are still open for play? (As of a story that came out yesterday on pgatour.com, anyway.) Hmmmm. Color me surprised, to say the least. Here's the link if you're interested: https://www.pgat...

Just heard about the Maryland shutdown. Come on in @DougE my friend, join us here in the virtual quarantine. Room for one more.
