Re: My swing issue

Duke of Hazards You're onto something. Great. I call it covering the ball. Its gives me a good strong left side to work my core through the ball to a full finish. It also adds distance. When I discovered it back in the day, it changed my game. It truly was a breakthrough to much better ballstriking...

Re: '19-'20 Winter Support Group Thread

bkuehn1952 Yes, it has been a good January, but here in Maryland, we are also looking at a big change in the weather forecast, similar to yours. Yesterday was over 60 degrees and sunny. Had a great round. (My 10th of the month, btw.) Played well. Today the high temp has already passed at 6 this mor...

The link is not taking me to the story, but only to the Golf Digest site. What's the name of the story so I can search it on their site?

11:30 tee time tomorrow. 55* and cloudy expected. Will the snow clear in time? :nope Nope. It didn't. Course stayed closed all day. 1:10 tomorrow was the first available tee time. I booked a threesome. 65* expected. It's gonna be packed. This already sucks. Guaranteed we don't finish before dark.

Re: Random golf thoughts

The US Open is still a big deal, but I agree to a certain extent. It's no longer perceived to be in the same league as The Open IMO, but still a step up from the PGA Championship. Frankly, I think the Players is bigger than the PGA as far as fan interest goes. I feel the Masters is clearly the most ...

Re: '19-'20 Winter Support Group Thread

Going bonkers here. 3rd day in a row with no golf. Still snow on the ground, though some turf is showing in places. Sun is out. Light wind, but only about 35* for the high. 11:30 tee time tomorrow. 55* and cloudy expected. Will the snow clear in time? Holy crap! 69* forecast for Saturday. Wow. The m...

Re: January Golf!

Chance to sneak out this afternoon, 42 degrees and light winds. :ohyeah Took this pic in my backyard at 4 pm. I'm guessing you'll see some of this soon yourself (without my dog). As a result of it, I DID NOT play today. :fk Tomorrow doesn't look playable either, obviously. Thursday 37* high with 20...

Re: January Golf!

Good start to January. Played 18 everyday so far. But today, Sunday, well it's 34 degrees with 20 mph wind. I think I may take my first day off of the year. (I might practice a few holes though if it gets up closer to 40.) Tomorrow seems the better choice. 45 and sun, with less wind. Hope y'all can ...

@srogers13 Two days into 2020 and two rounds played. We're tied, unless you played another already. A little rain today, but headed out for round three. You're making me work. Weekend looks like a washout here so, you can keep up if your weather is better. Play well. Some of us work for a living, a...

I was one of the first people to play golf in the new decade. It was brutal, 40 degrees with 25 mph winds, soft wet course. Barely broke a hundred. Fuck all. legitimatebeef Seriously Beef, since you like to play when others won't, you really should consider a cart cover for those windy, cold days w...

I think I am ahead of Doug for rounds on the year (probably the only time all year to say it.) I got two rounds in today.
Yep. You are ahead, 2 to 1. :thumbs

But it's only the first inning. ;)

I played today. Cold and windy. Tomorrow too. 52* and sun. It might be a little busy. 58* and rain showers forecast for Friday. That might be the best day of them all. Rain should scare some away. Not me.

I didn't really fail. 196 was more than I expected when the season began. It just would have been even better if I had reach that magical 200.

Re: 2019 goals

Even if I had the time, I don't have a cooperative body. 36 in one day is about my limit. And that's pushing it. I'm okay with 196 rounds. At least it's not 199 and only one single little round short. That would hurt.

Nope. Didn't make my 200 round attempt this years. Really wasn't expecting to. Only got in 3 rounds in Florida last week. Just arrived back in MD this afternoon. Plan to play tomorrow, so it looks like I will finish the year with only 196 rounds. Will have to try again next year. I plan to get my fi...

Re: Cold Weather and Hands

Yes, these are great. Much more like a true golf glove. I have a pair, but don't want to ruin them, so only wear them on certain days. Otherwise, I use my WinterSofs, which work fine, but definitely not as well as the new Winter StaSofs, in my opinion. I got my pair special ordered for me last month...

Re: Pre-Release (g)rumblings of new Titleist irons

Only issue so far: on the third 9 I had 98 yards to the pin. That's close to the max for my 54, but I hit my 54 to 3 feet. Dropped a few balls to hit the 48 and struggled to dial it down to 100 yards, which I need to be able to do. I'm in the same boat. I am playing a new 48 which is part of my T20...
