Re: Pre-Release (g)rumblings of new Titleist irons

So, the new Vokey SM8s are out on Tour this week. As far as their looks, they are quite different than most previous iterations of SM wedges, graphically speaking. In my opinion, they are cleaner-looking. Not sure yet if I like that. I'm a creature of habit. It will probably take me a while to get c...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

A new 3 wood from Sub70 with an EvenFlow blue 6.0 shaft. Should be here by the end of the week. Tell me more. Pictures too please. Interested in face profile visually, but all specs. I know nothing about Sub70. What sent you down that path? I know you have custom irons, which I think, you like. So ...

Re: The Grumble Thread

Ouch! I know what that feels like. I did the same thing many years ago with a razor blade while cutting a piece of foam core. The blade slipped off the straight edge and caught my thumb. Took off a good sized chunk. It grew back in a month. Yours should too.

Re: Updated Avatar Image

It was time for a new face. It's actually a new old face. From a few years back. No, not 30 years back, you wiseasses. Maybe 10 or 12. I can't find any good golf photos for my avatar. And I was sick of the recent one. But I'll see if I can find something decent so you all won't have to look at my bi...

Jealous, but happy for you.

What club did you hit on 17th? What was distance that day and wind speed/direction? Who did you play with, friends or paired with others you didn't know?

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Just ordered a new Titleist U.510 3 iron with Project X HZRDUS 80 graphite shaft, after reading all the raves. Not sure where exactly it will fit in my bag, but what the hell, I'll figure it out. If not, it will be on Ebay in the Spring. I hit our club pro's new U.500 1 iron last month and actually ...

Moonrise Over 10th

Finishing up my last couple holes yesterday, as the sun went down and the moon came up. It looked much more dramatic in real-life...and was much darker outside than this pic would suggest.

Curious, why are you selling it? You really seemed to enjoy it.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree here with this group. But, you should have no problem selling on WRX.

Re: 2019 Fall Support Group Thread

I played Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week (and 6 of the first 7 days of November). Conditions were great, but still too many people. There was no one there yesterday (Friday) as the temps dropped into the 20s overnight and the wind picked up. Felt about 32 midday yesterday, so I sta...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

78 on super-fast greens with some pins unfairly set on slopes. Pissed me off. Friggin guy who set pins today needs to learn what is and is not fair. It's one thing to set a pin on a slight slope when the stimp is slow enough to stop the ball on that slope. It's clearly another thing to have the gree...

I LOVE to watch LPGA golf. I enjoy watching the ladies as much, if not more than the PGA Tour, except maybe when Greatest PGA TOUR Champion of All-Time Tiger is playing.

Re: 2019 Fall Support Group Thread

Our turf is as good as ever right now. Fairways and greens are lush. Rough is thick. That will all change soon as the winter air becomes more prevalent. October and early November always seem to offer some of the best conditions of the year, but then, poof, they are gone. If the damn wind would let ...

Re: 2019 Fall Support Group Thread

Yeah, I hear you. It was 55 degrees yesterday, but felt like 45 with the wind. It did not deter enough golfers. I played after 3pm, thinking I could get around quickly, not expecting the course to be so busy. I jumped around, but there were very few holes open on which to jump to, so I got frustrate...

Re: The Grumble Thread

Cold and windy today. 15-20 mph. Felt like 40, but it was 50+. Given my choice, I would much rather play in rain with no wind than sun, cold and wind. Wind screws with my head. But, then again, pretty much everything screws with my head.

Re: The Grumble Thread

I realize you were walking BK, but even so, I would have walked to another hole, preferably ahead of them, and gone back later to finish any I had skipped to get away from them. It seems I do that at least a few times a week when the course isn't full, either because it's late in the day or the weat...

Re: The Greatest PGA TOUR Champion of All-Time Greatest PGA TOUR Champion of All-Time Greatest PGA TOUR Champion of All-

I never saw Jack in his prime but I'd be hard pressed to believe Jack was better. I DID see Jack play regularly in his prime. It was a different game back in that era, with different equipment. He was great by the standards of his time. It's hard to compare Greatest PGA TOUR Champion of All-Time Ti...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I told you several years ago it was a fine track. Yes, you did. And I have been playing it a few times a year since I got to MD, beginning with your recommendation. This year it has been in absolutely wonderful condition every time I played it. I still love WM and believe it is a touch more challen...

Re: Random golf thoughts

IMO, slow pace of play is a result of a few things. 1. General lack of etiquette 2. Present-day generational attitudes (not caring about anyone else, but yourself, e.g., Millenials and Gen-Zs) 3. Older/senior generational attitudes (not caring about anyone else because you think you've earned the ri...

Shot a 78 at Musket Ridge with a perfect back nine (36) on Friday. However, played from the white tees (128 slope) with two older guys. Even older'n me! https://www.thegrint.com/score/edit_score/7032109 Started off on the wrong foot with a double (and penalty) on the first, but obviously, found some...

Fell asleep before they started the first half of the final round late last night. Greatest PGA TOUR Champion of All-Time Tiger was 3 ahead. Woke up this morning and he is still 3 ahead after 11 holes. The remaining 7 holes start on Golf Channel at 5:30pm EST. I'll be waiting on pins and needles all...
