Re: Bawlz

It already, kind of, is part of the family. AVX stands for A lternate to the V 1 or (V1) X . I'm not surprised you haven't found many. They were just released to all markets last season and are really still a niche ball at this point. Most die hard Pro V players, especially longer hitters, had no re...

Re: Bawlz

Yesterday, out of winter boredom, I started to go through three full 5-gallon containers of "found" balls I had in my garage. One by one I cleaned them up and assessed their condition, separating them into groups: 1) VG-Mint grade, most-recent model, Tour level balls of any brand . (These are used f...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I am thinking about buying a new golf glove. My current one is relatively new and I have a spare. Decisions, decisions. I buy the MG Golf ones where you actually get two. The "Tech" ones with the spandex in the knuckles. I have not pulled the trigger yet so technically I shouldn't be posting yet. G...

Re: The Grint Virtual Tour

I plan to be in this "Tour," but getting in 18 before the end of the month might be difficult. It is snowing here as I write this, with a forecast of 5-8 inches. That would normally shut the course down for at least a week or so until it melts. However, the forecast temps over the next few days are ...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Walked nine late this afternoon. Snow due to start overnight. Could be 8 inches, so figured I'd try to play some holes before getting shut out for (possibly) days. It was about 35 degrees out there. And very soft. No distance. No roll. Even so, played okay. 4 pars, 5 bogeys. No poor shots. Good walk.

Re: February Golf

55? Pffft. You're still a young man. C'mon. Gimme a break. Shooting those low scores, I think you should be moving BACK, to the Championship tees! 7200 yards, baby! Leave the senior tees to us old guys. Seriously, I'm thinking I'll move back up to the white tees without feeling like a whimp in a cou...

Re: February Golf

Awesome Phil (GBogey). You are now officially the low man on the LegitimateGolf team. That even sounds like a round to be seriously considered for the "Frozen Bawlz" Cup. Good work.

Re: The Get A Grip Thread

Evidently, I am not as up to date as I thought regarding the Z-grips. They were introduced 6-7 years ago, not a couple years ago as I had thought. I never heard about them until last year. I was just doing some research/reviews on them on some of the Big Box Forums, and found out they have been arou...

Re: The Get A Grip Thread

Been playing Golf Pride MCC grips (in midsize) for years. Love them. Yet, the new (well, not so new anymore---released a couple years ago) Golf Pride Z-Cord grips have my eyebrows raised. A buddy of mine---good player---loves them and gave me a full-on presentation of why he does. I tried a few of h...

It would be fun to see Lee Trevino and Chi Chi give it a try (in their prime).
I'd throw Seve into that mix too.

Re: What Do You Carry in Your Pockets During a Round?

I'd like to say that my pockets are much more interesting than all of yours. But, I can't, because, they aren't. I carry the standard stuff like most of you. I typically have a couple driver tees in front right pocket, plus one or two shortie tees for irons, hybrid and 3W tee shots. Also in that poc...

Re: 2018-2019 Winter Support Group

There is something to that. I used to play the white tees most of the time a couple/few years back. I was shooting in the high 70s and low 80s regularly. Then I decided I was hitting the ball well enough---the best of my golf life actually---to try the blue tees. Started out scoring low to mid 80s. ...

Re: 2018-2019 Winter Support Group

Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect, by Bob Rotella, is good stuff. I have the audio version, read by Rotella himself, and listen to it whenever I feel I need a boost to my mental game. I also have Rotella's Your 15th Club and listen to it often. It too helps with the mind game of golf.

Great finish for Phil this morning. Congrats to him. Happy for Casey too. He was able to get 2nd alone and won the ProAm portion with his partner. Casey seems like a really good guy. Hard not to like him.

Someone on this board may have had Casey pre-tourney at 30-1 to win.
Someone else on this board flopped quad 4s and stacked AA last night for 300 bb.
Could you please say that in old-person English so I might understand? Or was it supposed to be in code on purpose?

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I couldn't find the posting I made from last season, regarding the custom 4 iron I had built by Titleist to my specs. I thought an AP1-718 with a lightweight 65g Recoil graphite shaft would be a great alternative to a 22* hybrid. I had been hitting my 5i so well at that time, so thought maybe a 4i w...

Re: How far does your driver head fly? Does cart path help?

I've seen many faces caved in over the years. Unfortunately, it wasn't due to MY swing power. No, most were from the same young kid at my old club, Matt. He was 18-19 when I moved, but I had been watching and playing with him since before he could drive. I'm sure I have mentioned him in the past. Th...
