Re: Early Extension

That's the whole point of starting from that position. I push off from the inside of my right foot with much more ease. Though I can't actually swing right now due to a whopping hip/back issue I did not plan on, trying to picture my turn through the ball I see my right knee pointing more towards my ...

Re: Handicap Changes on the way

I am happy about the changes in general, but not sure about the double bogey max. I was already only able to take double bogey in an official posted round. It has been double bogey max if you're below 10 handicap for years. However, it was course handicap that counted, not USGA handicap index. So, a...

Re: Early Extension

Forget about the hips for a moment and try driving the right knee in towards the left. I don't know, just a thought. That is the last thing I do, just before starting back with the club. I preset the right knee inward. My club pro gave me this tip last year during a 2-hr lesson and it made a world ...

Re: February Golf.

51 is balmy. You don't need luck, SJD. (At least not for playing in 51 degree temps. Your game in general might, so, good luck, I guess.)

Matt: I'm in Sarasota. Not sure I'll be playing much golf if this pain doesn't subside, but typically I play University Park in Sarasota, Esplanade in Bradenton as my regulars when I am here, as well as a few others, including Sarasota National in Venice every few years. Beef: It should really only...

Re: New from Titleist

I'm just cranky right now. My left hip is killing me (up into my lower back) after driving 18 hours to Florida. Can hardly bend at the waist. 84 degrees and sunny here and golf seems unlikely for at least a few days. 3 words of advise. Don't get old.

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

Oh, too early for shorts you say? Well, have fun sweating in your chinos because on Thursday here comes 72 DEGREES :puke ....and every Tom, Dick and Harry out of the woodwork. Good luck. BTW, I don't wear "chinos." Only pants from the 2000s specifically designed for golf. They may look like chinos,...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I know it works with air. I have done it. But, sometimes I like doing things the way I am most comfortable. I have both build-tape and double-sided and have no problems building with either. Besides, my compressor is noisy. I like the tradition and quietness of doing things the old traditional way. ...

Re: New from Titleist

A) Based on the graphic (Alignment arrow), that ball is 8-9 years old, at least. B) You probably have no idea of the ball's history. Was if it was ever hit with a mower, or did it possibly have a small crack in it to begin with, before you hit it, etc.? Was if it ever frozen in water before, or how ...

Re: February Golf.

No shorts til May for me here at my home course, whatever the temp. I prefer playing golf in long pants, but feel like people think that I think I'm a playa (albeit a senior player) by displaying the PGA long pants look, even when it's short pants weather. Played today in a foursome with a bunch of ...

Re: February Golf.

I played yesterday. After 12 forced days off, played surprisingly well on an extremely wet course. Playing again tomorrow. Leaving for Florida Thursday. For some reason, I'm not all that excited about 75-80 degree golf down there. I was kinda enjoying having the course to myself here, even though th...

Who, what, when, where and.....why the f**k do I have to ask? How about a little more info for Christ's sake!? For the record, what you basically said is "Yep. Going on vacation. He was on that Hank Haney celebrity golf instructional show a couple years back when it was on Golf Channel. I think Adam Levine, Sugar Ray Leonard and Angie Everheart (sp) were all on it with him. Can't remember his swing, but do remember thinking it wasn't as bad I expected, based on his shape.

Nearly two days and not a single golf-related post on the GOLF boards. I'm done being disappointed every time I check in throughout the day. I'm gonna go read a book or something. God, I'm sooo bored. This 2018 Season Support Group thread is falling woefully short of doing its job. :fuckall

Re: Random youtube thread

There is a ton of hype surrounding this guy. There also seems to be quite a bit of substance. Maybe his money has afforded him the opportunity to surround himself with the best and the brightest, but you don't fly rockets into space and return their boosters in perfect condition to their landing pa...

I'm with you on this one Duke. I was sold yesterday when I watched the launch, but totally jumped all in when I read all the info and did some more independent research on the company.

Sheet of ice here. Literally unwalkable right now. Driveway, deck and walkway all skate-able and definitely slip-and-fall-able. Going out in the garage to replace some grips.

Re: Random youtube thread

Awesome concept. Would love to see it accomplished. In addition to CA, The Boring Co already is working on permits here in MD. I might just drive into DC more often if the traffic goes away! I'm only 35 miles away, but only go there when my arm is totally twisted by my wife. It really is an interest...

Re: Random youtube thread

That launch was the most awesome thing I have seen in awhile. Watching the two booster rockets blow off exactly to the planned moment, then literally come back to earth and LAND on their target pads, on their feet, simultaneously, side by side, was like watching a futuristic science fiction movie. I...

Re: Random youtube thread

I have on MSNBC, which has been checking in on the launch intermittently with plans to cover it when it happens. But there may be a delay. Evidently there are some major winds aloft which could be an issue. They are still moving ahead with the countdown as of now though.
