It would be fun to see Lee Trevino and Chi Chi give it a try (in their prime).
I'd throw Seve into that mix too.

Re: What Do You Carry in Your Pockets During a Round?

I'd like to say that my pockets are much more interesting than all of yours. But, I can't, because, they aren't. I carry the standard stuff like most of you. I typically have a couple driver tees in front right pocket, plus one or two shortie tees for irons, hybrid and 3W tee shots. Also in that poc...

Have no idea how this works, but accepted the invite. Do out-of-season rounds count? We don't start posting here in MD for another month or so.

Re: 2018-2019 Winter Support Group

There is something to that. I used to play the white tees most of the time a couple/few years back. I was shooting in the high 70s and low 80s regularly. Then I decided I was hitting the ball well enough---the best of my golf life actually---to try the blue tees. Started out scoring low to mid 80s. ...

Re: 2018-2019 Winter Support Group

Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect, by Bob Rotella, is good stuff. I have the audio version, read by Rotella himself, and listen to it whenever I feel I need a boost to my mental game. I also have Rotella's Your 15th Club and listen to it often. It too helps with the mind game of golf.

Re: 2019 PGA Tour thread

Great finish for Phil this morning. Congrats to him. Happy for Casey too. He was able to get 2nd alone and won the ProAm portion with his partner. Casey seems like a really good guy. Hard not to like him.

Someone on this board may have had Casey pre-tourney at 30-1 to win.
Someone else on this board flopped quad 4s and stacked AA last night for 300 bb.
Could you please say that in old-person English so I might understand? Or was it supposed to be in code on purpose?

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I couldn't find the posting I made from last season, regarding the custom 4 iron I had built by Titleist to my specs. I thought an AP1-718 with a lightweight 65g Recoil graphite shaft would be a great alternative to a 22* hybrid. I had been hitting my 5i so well at that time, so thought maybe a 4i w...

Re: How far does your driver head fly? Does cart path help?

I've seen many faces caved in over the years. Unfortunately, it wasn't due to MY swing power. No, most were from the same young kid at my old club, Matt. He was 18-19 when I moved, but I had been watching and playing with him since before he could drive. I'm sure I have mentioned him in the past. Th...

Not a bad idea. Come play with me. I could use the confidence. And please, play like shit. I'll ask you back. :o

Re: February Golf

Hit some decent drives on the course today. Figured out irons and generally played okay. Easy Florida county course (116 slope) but with the exception of a couple shots felt like I was playing golf again. Lots of GIRs and fairways, but distance wasn't as long as I would expect. Played an extra club ...

Re: February Golf

Okay, so I went to the range and MAY have figured it out. At least a temporary fix worked. I stopped slicing anyway, but am not really drawing my driver as I would like. Instead, I am getting a slight pull, but straight, or a very slight fade 3-4 yards right of target. In both cases, my ballspeed fe...

He still posts some scores on SG360, and comments from time to time on my scores (though I have finally moved over to the Grint) so his excuse about not having his computer set up (yet) doesn't hold water.

Where the hell are you Chris (other than in Delaware)?

Re: Course Staff and Rangers

Knowing many starters and rangers personally myself, most of whom also play golf themselves, I think some of them feel the public golfer who pays to play is just a nuisance, at least if they are not specifically known by the ranger/starter as one of the "good" guys. If you aren't in the clic, you ar...

Re: 2018-2019 Winter Support Group

I finally got out to play a few holes today in Florida. Alls I can say is, don't take a month off from golf if you expect to play at the level you did before the layoff. Man, I felt like some 20+ handicapper out there. Somehow I kept the score somewhat under control, but my swing was terrible. I can...

Re: Sergio's Greatest Hits

Unlike Sergio, when the breaks go against him, Fowler, showed class under pressure in his win yesterday at the Phoenix WM Open, losing his 5-stroke lead on virtually one hole due to circumstances that would make even some of the coolest heads lose it. And it kills me to say it, but he did it with hi...
