Something tells me the Dougster's not too bothered by the heat and humidity what with all his microfiber shirting, and cooling towels, and vacuum flasks and what not.
There are no cooling towels or vacuum flasks for me, but there is plenty of microfiber shirting going on!

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Hot, but bearable, so far. Supposed to get hotter as the week progresses. Funny, when I play well, the weather doesn't get to me that much. Of course, it's only been high 80s to 90 lately with just one day of really humid weather. Forecast for mid-90s the next three days. We'll see what my tune will...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Backed up yesterday's 77 with another one today. Things are clicking right now. Feeling in great control out there. Only 10 GIRs and no birdies today, but hit 79% of fairways. And got up and down 3Xs for par and two more times to save bogey. Satisfying day.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Had a nice round today. The first four holes at Worthington Manor can really beat you up. Four tough-ass par 4s. Normally I am thrilled to get through those first four with a score of 19 or better. Today, I was at 17 through those holes, and better yet, was driving the ball well and hitting my irons...

Re: Incomplete Rounds

I do.Most of the time. I hate using ESC scoring though, because on my course, the last 3 holes are the 6, 4 and 8 handicap holes respectively. I usually feel if I am playing well I can actually par all three, but if I quit after, say, 14, I have to take two pars and two bogeys. I feel cheated. But, ...

Re: ... about to put ______ in the video player

I have been watching Deadwood on demand from HBO. I had watched the first few episodes of the first season before I moved away from having HBO during the initial run. With the new movie, I want to watch the series to see the movie. I watched the series when it was originally aired and I watched the...

Re: Club fitting with the Club Fix in Costa Mesa

I could use some vicarious living right now so I think you should go ahead and schedule your fitting for next week. What's the point of delaying? The sooner you are fit the sooner you will have new Titleists. A. The new Titleist irons won't be available till fall (though I am more interested in sha...

Re: Club fitting with the Club Fix in Costa Mesa

Rather than start a new thread.... Later this season, I am having a full fitting with one of the premier fitters in the country who was on Tour for 25 years fitting some of the biggest name players out there. He has retired from the Tour life, settled down and has set up a shop nearby to me. He came...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Though as I am sure you would expect, I only wear Titleist Players or FJ Soft Touch gloves (when I actually wear a glove). However, I have tried the MG and can attest to the quality. They are nice thin Cabretta leather, very well made and low priced. Don't know the Costco brand, but the whole point ...

Re: Pre-Release (g)rumblings of new Titleist irons

When do they release new wedges / when will the SM7 have a slight discount to clear them out - time for new wedges. Typically released for sale every two years, in shops in late winter. Last release was the SM7, March 8 2018. I would expect similar timing for the next iteration. I will also be curi...

Pre-Release (g)rumblings of new Titleist irons

Don't we have an equipment thread here? I couldn't find it. In any case, here's my column for the week. As some, or all, of you may have seen if you spent any time on MGS or WRX over the last week, Titleist has started Tour validation testing of their next generation of irons and hybrids, beginning ...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I have been playing and scoring poorly for months. The who thing has become a bit of a downer.... ....We are in Mid-June and have yet to touch 80 degrees. It rains at least every other day, hard. The entire Mitten is one large sodden heap of mud. The soft, wet fairways are bounded by extremely heal...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I forgot to post this while I was in Orlando (maybe just a little bit of alcohol involved,) but I purchased Ping g400 5 wood. I figure I can interchange it in my bag with my 3 hybrid depending on the course I am playing. It has to be one of the easiest fairway woods to hit off the deck, ever. Nice ...

Polos for me most days around the house and when out and about running errands, but always on the golf course. Always.
Not golfing=typically, cotton pique type.
While golfing=Golf specific tech polos. FJ, Carnoustie, Ashworth, Cutter Buck, etc.

I'm pickin' 5-time Masters Champion Tiger, Ricky and Koepka. 5-time Masters Champion Tiger because I WANT him to win. Ricky because he's always in the mix and is due to break through. And Koepka because, well, he's Koepka. Who's better?

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

So, to continue the long story: I opened up the face of my 58* wedge and figuratively, crossed my fingers. Heard the thump of the bounce hit the sand clay and watched the ball fly up and slice hard right due to the clump of sand it was carrying. I couldn't see where it landed, but thought it might h...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

This isn't necessarily my best shot of the month, but worth mention just the same. I will put it in my memory bank for the next time I'm in trouble. Actually, it was more than one shot. Instead, it was more of a recovery situation than a single shot. Par 5, about 500 yards. Had a poor tee shot into ...
