Re: The Tiger Thread

Agreed.

And though his driving has never been great, there were times throughout his career where it was much better than it is right now....or at least, was yesterday.

Re: The Tiger Thread

Can you imagine what could be if he was able to rectify his tee shot issues once and for all?

Re: The Tiger Thread

That realistic chance at eagle, which turned into a three-putt par, really hurt. But he is in the mix, yet AGAIN. For anyone who thinks he's washed up, think again. Is Rickie Fowler washed up? I don't think so. He, too, always seems to be in the mix. Just not as much as Tiger's been lately.

Re: The Tiger Thread

Chill. He's okay. A little rough start, but there are still over 70 holes to play. Have some faith.

Re: 2018 summer support group

Yeah, I'm there to play golf too. And some babe walking around with a body like that, in an outfit like that, would not only catch my attention, but take my mind off my game, particularly if she was close by or in my group. On the other hand, I get to play plenty of golf, so I might just give up and...

I played the Dye Club at Barefoot once. She wasn't there. It still had plenty of moguls.

Re: 2018 summer support group

I wear modern-day golf clothing, not cotton pleated shorts and heavy cotton pique polos. (It's not 1985 anymore!) Nike, UA, CB, FJ, Sketchers, Adidas, etc. Made-for golf-stuff. I like the fact I can play with no hindrance of movement for 18 holes, then go to an office or a bar afterward without my c...

Re: 2018 summer support group

Yeah, I fall on the traditionalist side. I personally don't think the golf course is a place for tank tops, tee shirts, jeans or loud stereos. It's about respecting the game, and the traditions of the game. It's what attracted me to golf as a young teen. If I wanted otherwise, I would have taken up ...

Re: 2018 summer support group

Maybe I come off like an old woman, but hey, I am still getting carded when I buy beer. That's because this old woman doesn't have a leathery face from habitually going out and standing in the summer sun for five plus hours at a time, waiting to hit golf shots. Yeah, I still get carded too. But not...

Re: The Tiger Thread

Thinking about how well he has played in the few tournaments he's been in this year, I'm encouraged, but worried the clock is ticking. Certainly, he is not like the Tiger of 10-15 years ago, but his game is better than most of the field's on a pretty regular basis. IMO, right now he is on a similar ...

She's used to tougher greens, like she plays at Worthington! :P

I have this feeling tiger goes really low today. Something like 62 or 63. I wouldn't put money on that, just an odd feeling.
Hope your senses are correct.

Thidapa, hanging tough. She's in 8th now. 6 under for the tourny with 3 holes to play today. 7 birdies so far in the round. You go girl.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

My Worthington Manor regular, and LPGA girl, Thidapa, made the cut and is showing some game. Sitting at T31, 1 under after the first two rounds of the Women's British Open. Ariya, Moriya, Thidapa and Pornanong Phatlum (who is presently holding the 36 hole lead), are all from Thailand. Pretty impress...

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

I was a big fan during their early years. She Loves You, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, All My Loving , etc. Loved those and the rest on the early albums. Loved their first two movies too, A Hard Days Night and Help . Sometime around Sgt. Pepper and Ravi Shankar, I wasn't as much into them. They got a litt...

Where would you live?

Okay, so I was daydreaming about having an endless supply of money (I'm sure you all have had that same dream) and started thinking about where I might want to live if that were the case. Golf, is a major consideration in the equation, but so is quality of life in general. Vacations, are not an issu...

Ariya had a rough start, but made a nice move up in the 2nd round. I'm counting on her to be in the mix by Sunday.

Re: Tiger Woods's Stinger

It's basically a punch shot. He uses a delofted 2 or 3 iron, or even sometimes a 3W, and lots of swing speed. Ball back in stance, hands ahead of clubhead well past impact. Very shallow path from inside, with little to no divot, so as not to create any additional backspin.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

I don't usually make predictions but I based on this week's LPGA action, Ariya is your winner. She is playing very excellent golf head and shoulders above the rest. I am loving it, I think her swing is awesome. Ariya is always my favorite. I have been picking her to win nearly every time she plays ...

Re: Forced Carry - Thought Process

A forced carry is any area of course of substantial depth (distance front to back) which requires you make a good shot to clear it, or you lose the ball if you don't. So, a driver off the tee with 100 yards of wetlands between the tee and the first playable location typically rough) is a forced carr...

Re: Forced Carry - Thought Process

Funny, after playing my course for 3 years now, I hardly notice forced carries. HOWEVER, there are 13 or 14 of them, including 11 off of tee boxes. Some are quite long. If you ever play Worthington, make sure you have plenty of balls....and golf balls! :o

Geez, how are horseshoes not banned then? I played both Jarts and Horseshoes growing up on a regular basis. Loved Horseshoes and was pretty damn good at the game, until the right rotator cuff in my shoulder became a problem in my late 40s. (Though a righty, my left one went bad much earlier in life....
