Re: WTF did you buy today?

Pulled the trigger after a range session a few weeks ago, working with various shafts, and ordered a new Titleist TS2 Driver with Tensei Blue 55 Stiff Shaft. Arrives next week. Elbow better heal quickly. Okay, so, as just wrote on the DL thread, I got to play with my new TS driver today, even thoug...

Re: On the golf DL

Might have pushed things a bit. 90 balls yesterday on the range didn't seem to bother me. Today, was a different story. Played 18, used new TS driver, hit the ball okay, but I'd be lying if I said I feel fine. I'm sure I probably overdid it yesterday hitting way too many balls without being even clo...

Don't attempt a fade while indoors, thought that was common knowledge.
Everybody knows that. (Well obviously not one guy in VA, but everyone else.) Never attempt a fade indoors. Ever. God, how dumb. :lolz

Re: On the golf DL

Coming off the DL tomorrow. Went to the range. Was a bit tentative to start, but felt no discomfort during the swing, so got more brave as I got into it. Hit nearly a full pyramid of balls. About 90 balls. My right shoulder is more sore than my elbow right now. I used an air brace on my elbow, which...

Re: On the golf DL

J, looking at the picture of the CCE mat I can see why that might cause issues. The way the "grass" is implanted in groupings with tight concentrations at the base where it goes into the rubber, in my mind, would create more restriction to a club passing through it smoothly. On mine, the load is spr...

Re: On the golf DL

My mat is like going through butter. No grab at all . And I normally take a sizeable divot in the fairway with my wedges-mid irons. It was an expensive mat when I bought it (actually my wife bought it for me). It was over $400 and the marketing claimed specifically that it was designed for being abl...

Re: On the golf DL

I am hoping to come off the DL in a couple days (as a result of right elbow tendonitis), but I'm not fully confident yet that I can play without too much pain or making it worse. It is still quite sore, but usable in general. I iced every day and used heat on it too. Over the last two days, I have c...

And flipping the wrists is not going to ruin your golf game.
No, it won't. But, it might give you a higher ball flight than is ideal, depending on your weight position at impact.

Re: LPGA player comes out

There are very few girls on the LPGA of whom I dislike. Mel is definitely NOT one of them. Her personal life announcement does not affect my feelings one way or another.

Now tell me she is a Trump supporter and she is dead to me.

Not that I think many of you are regular Pro V1 users, but in case any of you are, and haven't heard yet, the new 2019 versions of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x are being released in a month or two. I was able to test the V1 (as a Team Titleist tester) this past summer. Honestly, having gotten so used to m...

I could do without the power outage, though. No need to be uncomfortable while I wait it out.

3 full days. No swings. Tried chipping in basement, but it still irritates elbow. I'm actually glad it's so cold out right now. I don't feel like I'm missing much. On the other hand, my new cart cover was just delivered 15 minutes ago. I coulda been out there tomorrow using it.

Re: December Golf!!!

Beef, LC&P out of season is virtually required, at least on a super wet course. No one says you need to do it on a decent lie, but if you have a plugged ball in the fairway, out of season, that's just silly. Even in season, with no LC&P in play, you can pull out a plugged ball from the short grass a...

Re: December Golf!!!

Elbow injury. :bawl It started bothering me Sunday. Been out since the 9th hole on Monday, two holes after it seemed to really get tweaked (or something tore slightly) on a cut-off flopitch shot from alongside the green on the 7th. At least a week rest will be needed. Hoping not much more. Hurts to ...

Re: Bawlz

Not to beat a dead horse, or add any new thoughts on what has already been said, but this very short article in GolfWeek supports what most people who play a lot of golf already believe. What it doesn't mention is that you really need to play a certain ball all the time to get to know it well. For m...

I just got back from playing. Hit the ball okay, but wasn't real sharp. This discussion must have been in my head. Is there a program that can take THAT into consideration? In my defense, the wind was honking. And all of a sudden, I seem to be having some tendinitis in my elbow as of midway through ...

Re: Bawlz

I don't know my average. I just know I hit a lot of short irons close enough to have realistic birdie putts when my game is going well. One very cold round last week I hit three approach shots, all to under 3', and all ending in birdie. That is not unusual for me to get that many close in a round. ...
