Re: Remember the Wedge Guy from Oob?

I tend to agree w/ Doug. I thought his articles were a bit pushy, like we should be bagging 5 wedges if we knew what was good for us. BTW, wasn't it originally Eidolon? Then SCOR? Then Ben Hogan? Guy's like the village bicycle. I miss some of the Oobers, though, like that one guy (plastic surgeon?)...

Re: The Grint Handicap

I enter officially in my MSGA account. But I only enter real scores---and only scores---there. I am using Grint primarily for keeping track of stats and whatnot. I enter solo rounds in Grint, but not on my MSGA site. I enter out of season rounds and rounds that I feel are not post-able for MSGA, on ...

Re: 3rd Annual Frozen Balls Challenge - 2018-2019

Oh, GBogey, now see what you've started. Now that I think about it, I'll be happy to keep it. From a distance it looks like I won something special. And even if someone looks close and reads the plaque, they won't know what the Legitimate Frozen Golf Challenge is. And if they ask, I'll just mumble s...

Really hate to be a party pooper (story of my life) but I think this so-called award would much, much better received if it didn't come with an actual trophy.
Oh, but it's so beautiful. Such a nice shade of greenish gold plastic.

Remember the Wedge Guy from Oob?

Never really got along with him, myself. His message was always to sell his wedges. If you haven't seen this yet, evidently, he has signed on with WRX according to their site: A welcome to the Wedge Guy! We're pleased to have Terry Koehler joining GolfWRX as a Featured Writer. If you're unfamiliar w...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

That's got "Twist-Face" technology, doesn't it? Does it feel any different than a typical rounded "gear effect" style face upon striking the ball? What loft is the new driver? More importantly, what color CK series is the shaft? I have a very similar Tensei AV Blue 55 Series (58g) Stiff flex in my T...

If I win I will accept the trophy virtually - send me a picture not the real thing.
Do you mean to tell me you wouldn't want to display this classless-plastic classic looking beauty?

A Nostalgic Look at The Masters, 1950

Though a bit grainy (probably shot on 8mm film) I found this video to be very satisfying. I think I just like to see the way things were back then on a golf course. Not only the way they swung the club, but the style of it all. I guess that's why I'm a Titleist guy. I love the tradition of it all. I...

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

I actually just found a copy of the original story as it appeared on oob. I must have printed it out right off the forum pages, because there are comments from oobers at the end. Interesting. Beef gave me props! Actually, a bunch of you "chimed" in to offer your positive feedback. I just read the st...

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

I have a hard copy somewhere around here. It was published online awhile back on Oob. I doubt those archives/links are still available. Or, if they are, I'm not sure how to find them. I did try the wayback machine (old web files archiver) but couldn't figure out how to access oob files. I was able t...

Re: The Grint Virtual Tour

I can't seem to figure out how to post scores that count for the LG Virtual Tour. There was an option a few weeks back under the "Events" button, but now all I get is "None" when I click on it. One nine-hole round was posted to the LG Tour, but I have played at least five or six 18-hole rounds since...

Whether there is direct evidence that you actually hit the house and broke the solar panel or not, you said you heard it bang off something that sounded like it might very well be a house. So, if it were me, I'd pay the $150 just to teach myself a lesson! :school Bet I wouldn't hit it over there aga...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

This is getting boring. Last six 18-hole scores posted to the Grint were 77, 78, 80, 80, 80, 81, respectively. Well, at least I'm consistent. But, based on that progression, evidently, I am getting worse. None of it counts, though. Our season officially starts March 15. So, those are all considered ...

Pay the man. You're a good guy. I have definitely paid when I damaged property (which was only once, as far as I know). Have you ever read my story from the old OOB days when I broke the windchimes and almost killed the wife of a guy I was playing with for the first time? If not, it's a fun read and...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Yes, I've been trying to wean myself off SG360, but I don't like the Grint nearly as much, so it hasn't been easy. I committed to the Grint and upgraded to the Pro version, so I'm gonna force myself to use it. Hopefully I'll get more accustomed to it and find that it can offer me much more than I re...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Is it weird that I can spend hours window shopping on the Footjoy website? I love that place. Being a self-proclaimed golf fashionista clothing afficianado addict, it's like going to a fantasy world for me. I have a wishlist of about $7K worth of new Footjoy stuff, and that only includes 4 pairs of ...
