Golf. Such an unpredictable game. One day you play like a 20 handicap, the next, a 2. I like the latter more, but the former is the one that's a lot easier to emulate. Good job BK.

Re: Bawlz

AVX stands for Alternate to V and X. It is marketed as the same level ball as the ProV or ProV 1X with some different characteristics, as I outlined above. Hence, the price is the same. Sorry.

I bet you like them when you try them.

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

I lived in Killington, Vermont in my early 20s for 3 years. Skied Memorial Day every year. Then I went back to CT for the summers and sailed (and played a little golf for fun, but mostly sailed).

Re: Bawlz

What my point was is that Titleist has been making golf balls for 80 years, and also that they make them in the USA. They earned their reputation long before any other of today's golf ball manufacturers were in existence. And, being made in the USA, labor costs and manufacturing plants are more than...

Re: Bawlz

Frankly, GBogey, you should try them before you poo poo them. My bet is you would see a definite difference and a positive result. I was immediately awed by the AVX when I first hit one. And I have loved the way Pro Vs played for me for many years. Very few people other than Team Titleist players an...

Re: Bawlz

I'm here. Was just about to announce the release of the AVX. I found out last week, but forgot to mention it. Here's how the AVX is different, at least for me: Longer off the tee. Longer off irons. Faster ball speed. Cuts through wind better than ANY ball I have ever played. It has surprised me on m...

Re: Too many clubs. What would you do?

Okay, I took the 5W and 21* hybrid out. Put the new 818H1 19* hybrid in. We'll see today if the gap between 5i and hybrid is now too big. Both 7 irons will stay in the bag, for now, with no bending of anything required. If this works, I'm good. If not, my next move is to put an AP3 or maybe even AP1...

Wedge Finish Choices

What finish do you all play in your wedges? Not sure which companies offer multiple finishes. If whatever company's wedges you play does, why did you choose the finish you did? I play Vokeys (duh!), which come standard in 3 different finishes, along with a couple other custom finishes as well. I hav...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Titleist 818H1 19* Hybrid. Been planning to acquire one, but was looking for a "special deal" on one with the exact shaft I wanted. Taking my 915F2 5W out of the bag. Retail $279.99 + tax = $297.48. (No discounts allowed by retailers on Titleist equipment.) My "back door" deal: $221.00, all in (thro...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

Got it even a bit closer (by an inch) than the last one I bragged about earlier on this thread. Friday the 13th. Par 3 6th, the signature hole at Worthington. 150 yds to pin, into a two club wind and the sun. Grabbed my Titleist AP3-718 5 iron, my typical 170+ yard club. The group behind us just pul...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

Did you go for the free 6 or 12 month financing offer, or just pay for it up front? It looks like a sweet set up. Either way, probably money well-spent on your game if you take it seriously, which I know you do. We now have one of those super-duper ones at my club, with all the bells and whistles, a...

Re: Need advice for bag/cart sound issue

I am pretty sure a bag being pushed is typically heavier than a bag being carried, probably 10 lb heavier. I know mine definitely is. Also, when carrying, you walk straight to your ball, including on the green, whereas when pushing, you go around, then back over to your ball, so the walking distanc...

Re: Need advice for bag/cart sound issue

I'm no expert on carry/stand bags, but I do use one for walking, which is much rarer since I got carts included in my membership fee this year. I also have a Sun Mountain Speed Cart that I push sometimes when I walk. I find I would rather carry than push a heavy bag around on the Speed Cart. We have...

Doug is your club owned by ClubCorp?

Just curious.
No, privately owned by a family who owns 2 or 3 courses. One in PA and I think there is another in MD, plus mine.

USGA Membership

I got my renewal bill from the USGA, even though I did not re-up last year. I had been a member for many years. But, last year I just didn't feel it was all that attractive. I already have my Worthington Manor Member bag tag and a TeamTitleist one rattling around on my bag. I don't need another USGA...

Jfurr, try getting more handsy with your short shots next time (if there is a next time that is). As a guitar player you probably have better than average feel in the hands. I don't know. Golf instruction is always telling amateurs to be passive-handed. I really don't know about that, and other suc...

I'm stuck on the mg c4s. I can't find a better ball for the price. Jason, you'll appreciate this, being an MG-C4 enthusiast.
