Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

Wow, that looks like one flat track. At least from what I can tell from those pictures.

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

It's a 400 yd hole from the back of the blue tee area. 380 from the front. More when the pin is back.

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

What is the carry # on the left bunker? From the blues about 265-280, depending on where tees are set. Normally, in-season, with a good drive I can reach just to the back right side of that bunker, or roll into it if I jerk it a bit. When I am to the left of that bunker (when I really yank it), it'...

My favorite par 5 is #9. Need to show a pic of the risk/reward second to that green.
Playing from the blue tees, there is rarely a risk/reward for me on the second shot. I'm usually happy to make it across and to the green on the third one!

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

We need to revive this thread. I like pictures. I just received my electronic copy of our Maryland State Golf Association newsletter. I was flipping through the pages when I came upon the picture on page 8. I knew right away where it was. If you are interested, here's the link, below. I tried to jus...

Re: Putting out of longish grass

Ran into the situation yesterday. My 5i approach did not hold the green and rolled into rough about 5 feet off, leaving me about 30 feet away, to a somewhat uphill pin. In normal conditions, there is no way I would have putted, but with the winter rough so short and sparse right now I actually did c...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Had a good round yesterday, from the blue tees (137 slope rating) for the first time this year, as the fairways have finally dried out. I actually saw some roll. It was, however, still only in the 40s, so distance continues to be cut down by the cold. At least there was no wind. I did not get to the...

Saw it. Wasn't bad. Wasn't great either. But it did get high marks on Rotten Tomatoes.

Re: Remember the Wedge Guy from Oob?

I miss some of the Oobers, though, like that one guy (plastic surgeon?) that had the Bill Murray photo for his profile pic and cracked wise about some dude's tramp stamp and commented that pimento cheese sandwiches look like the adipose tissue he sucked out of fat ladies. I can't believe I don't re...

Re: The Grint Handicap

I enter officially in my MSGA account. But I only enter real scores---and only scores---there. I am using Grint primarily for keeping track of stats and whatnot. I enter solo rounds in Grint, but not on my MSGA site. I enter out of season rounds and rounds that I feel are not post-able for MSGA, on ...

Oh, GBogey, now see what you've started. Now that I think about it, I'll be happy to keep it. From a distance it looks like I won something special. And even if someone looks close and reads the plaque, they won't know what the Legitimate Frozen Golf Challenge is. And if they ask, I'll just mumble s...

Really hate to be a party pooper (story of my life) but I think this so-called award would much, much better received if it didn't come with an actual trophy.
Oh, but it's so beautiful. Such a nice shade of greenish gold plastic.

Remember the Wedge Guy from Oob?

Never really got along with him, myself. His message was always to sell his wedges. If you haven't seen this yet, evidently, he has signed on with WRX according to their site: A welcome to the Wedge Guy! We're pleased to have Terry Koehler joining GolfWRX as a Featured Writer. If you're unfamiliar w...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

That's got "Twist-Face" technology, doesn't it? Does it feel any different than a typical rounded "gear effect" style face upon striking the ball? What loft is the new driver? More importantly, what color CK series is the shaft? I have a very similar Tensei AV Blue 55 Series (58g) Stiff flex in my T...

A Nostalgic Look at The Masters, 1950

Though a bit grainy (probably shot on 8mm film) I found this video to be very satisfying. I think I just like to see the way things were back then on a golf course. Not only the way they swung the club, but the style of it all. I guess that's why I'm a Titleist guy. I love the tradition of it all. I...

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

I actually just found a copy of the original story as it appeared on oob. I must have printed it out right off the forum pages, because there are comments from oobers at the end. Interesting. Beef gave me props! Actually, a bunch of you "chimed" in to offer your positive feedback. I just read the st...
