2018 Goals

Here we go...January golf has officially begun; the 2018 season is underway. I'm usually not one to really state concrete goals for better or for worse. I've proceeded to get better every year, and played some awesome courses. Last time i was a double digit handicap was August of 2016, and i'm curre...

Re: January Golf!

Managed to get out this weekend in over a month with highs in the 60's. The range was closed which was disappointing. So i chipped for a bit and headed to the first tee with my partner. I had absolutely no expectations for this round, so bagged a few beers and went out to have fun and just get to sw...

Re: January Golf!

I should be playing Saturday. We had a record low with a high of 29 yesterday, it's in the 40's today, and this weekend should be close to 60.

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

I think i see the possibility of golf coming here in atlanta. 58 on Saturday, and 61 on sunday with no precipitation. If that holds up, i'll be on the course Saturday (got tennis on sunday). Can't wait; been about a month so i'm itching to get out. Tomorrow has a high of 30 though, so there's still ...

Wow, very well played with all that time off!

I fly to the frozen tundra of CT tomorrow for the long weekend; hopefully NEXT weekend i can get out.

Re: Star Wars (warning, spoilers)

And as bad as these new Star Wars have been (and i agree from what i've seen), i still can't sit through a LOTR movie...i saw the first one and it was so bad, I was ready to go after the first half (felt like 8 hours give or take) of the movie.

Black Mirror is pretty awesome. I think the newest season is the worst of the 4, but they're all good.

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

I don't know how you guys are doing it. Atlanta has been hovering in the 20's and 30 for a couple weeks now and it's killing me. I have a tennis match Saturday which should be absolutely miserable; i don't even know how to dress for it. It looks like we have 50s on the horizon, but we'll see. I have...

Re: What are you getting/did you get for Christmas

So my in-laws always get me a dozen pro v's plus some smaller stuff each Christmas. So, i was pretty happy to see the expected dozen appeared to be coming my way again, however when i opened them this time, it was the green AVX box. They live in Florida, so the sales guy was able to convince them th...

An LG golf trip would be a good idea. Let's actually try to get something going early 2018 if enough people are serious.

Re: The Grumble Thread

That's a new one...that groups would be waiting on singles with an empty course ahead of them. So did you split from the walker after a hole or two? On a cold day like that i wouldn't want to be sitting in a cart waiting on the walker. I'd rather fly through the round at my own pace and keep the bod...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Played this past weekend and it was cold (for Atlanta) and it got wet. Temps were hovering around 50, and it was overcast. The course was pretty empty which is a rare sight there. I Started on 10 and played through 2 groups on that side, and had the course to myself after that. It started out really...

Re: While on the Subject of Travelin' Golf

I've definitely driven 2 hours each way for a course a couple times. I know i've done it from some RTJ trail courses, maybe one or two others as well. Probably took you two hours to get out of Atlanta on your way to Opelika. :thumbs Sure did! But, i gained an hour going there so it was basically ti...

Re: While on the Subject of Travelin' Golf

About 2 1/2 hours, round trip. Wintonbury Golf Club, Bloomfield, CT. Any longer drive, I'm staying overnight and playing another round either somewhere in the area or on the way home. That's a long way to travel for Wintonbury! It's an ok course if you're near by, and if i recall correctly the firs...

Welcome back! I sent you a request on SkyGolf, and i also keep scores on TheGrint; might be worth checking out. I assume you've been using GRINT for a while... what are your thoughts now? It looks pretty good. Sky golf doesn't impress me, i just have all my scores there. PS: I ordered Game Golf for...

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

Thanks! It was a bucket lister for sure and i paid for it (stayed on property, paid $100 greens fees, shipped my clubs), but it was worth every penny. Also, we traveled from Vancouver Canada, to Seattle, to Portland, and to Bandon over 10 days. I booked the tee time months ago. That day, was the bes...

Re: Autumn Support Group Thread

Any chance it's just a standard part that is pre-assembled and used in various products? Probably make financial sense to just use what they have instead of making a special non-am/pm version.
