Re: WTF did you shoot today?

So this weekend I'm playing a 2 day tournament (first of 7 tournaments in the winter series). It will be interesting. I'm partnered with some random person I've never met and we'll be partners for the entire series. Tomorrow we play a shamble format (pick best drive then play 2 balls from there) the...

Re: Airplane Seat Switching

I think I would have likely said "yes" just because it's only 90 minutes. But that is depending on who is sitting in the aisle & window of that row. For some reason air travel causes people to be overly aggressive & assholeish so I usually side on the "fuck it let me make sure...

Re: Newly Cut Holes vs. Beat Up Holes

Ha, I always thought that volcano effect was caused by people who stand right next to the holes to get their ball out. Their weight is essentially compacting the ground around the hole but not the lip given most people know not to stand on the hole.

Maybe it's a combination of these things?

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Ok here is the actual approach you can get a better sense of the hole. This might be my favorite laid out hole that I play frequently. If I hit a good drive I have a decision to make. Laying up seems like an obvious decision but even laying up isn't that straight forward. If you decide to lay up get...

Re: Shitty swing thoughts thread

There are so many bad swing thoughts. In reality any 1 thought could be bad for any person and could be a good thought for another person. Some other typical ones, that people don't really do enough analysis to apply correctly. "Swing to right field (or more recently swing to left field)" ...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Played 3 holes this morning and shot +2 but super happy about it. First hole I had a 2 putt par from about 50' 2nd hole - 190 yard par 3 I hit a perfect 5i right over the back of the green. Really difficult chip, chilly dipped it then got up & down. Now the fun hole. I didn't transfer my weight ...

Thank goodness everything is fine and she likely just twisted her knee or something minor while running around. She was fine yesterday and today but I still took her being overly cautious given how bad it bothered her on Thursday.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I played 4 holes for the first time in a long time this morning. I have to thank the end of daylight savings time (course maintenance is done before I get there) and cold weather (no one was at the course) for giving me the opportunity to play. I was pretty happy. 3/3 fairways 3/4 greens 1 over and ...

Re: Anything, Dog

Jason, are you familiar at all with TPLO, a surgery that changes the relationship of the tibia to the femur and repairs a CCL without replacing ligaments (you have to read up on it, it's hard to explain)? My dog had this done and while it was expensive, it was a great success. She also had a large ...

Re: Anything, Dog

Yeah we have no clue. Going to the vet on Saturday to see what is wrong. Although I'm 99% sure her last surgery failed. She has pretty badly bowed legs so the doctor said any surgery to repair the crutiate will have a pretty high failure rate. Basically her bones just pinch that ligament so anything...

2nd annual Legitimate Frozen Balls Challenge

Given that daylight savings time is gone, it's about time to start the 2nd annual Legitimate Frozen Balls Challenge. This contest will go until the start of daylight savings time on March 11, 2018. Re: Autumn Support Group Thread

So I wish my driver had a shattered shaft. It would give me a valid reason of why I can't hit it. I have a tournament on Nov 18th and 19th and am considering just snapping it in 2 before hand to remove the urge to pull it from my bag either round. Good thing I got my 3w shaft in the mail. At least I...

I bet 40% of Americans couldn't tell you if they have their lunch break at 12am or 12pm

That exception withstanding, I would agree.

Re: WTF did you buy today?

So I just signed up for the golf week winter tour. It's a team tournament series of 7 tournaments (3 of which are 36 holes).

I don't know the guy in partners with given I didn't have any "golf buddies" in the area. So it will be pretty interesting. Hopefully we get along lol.

Here is a quote from Kyle Lowry (current NBA player) “When it’s basketball season, I really try to focus on basketball,” Lowry said. “But when I can go play, I play. I love the game. People say, ‘How are you going to play golf [in season]?’ When you play golf, there isn’t a wear and tear [physically...

Re: The Tiger Thread

Who'd have thought there be odds. I guess the bookies will allow a bet on anything. You can find odds for everything. Bookies don't mind giving you odds if you don't mind placing a bet. If you look hard enough you could probably find a bookie that is willing to lay you odds on the number of penalty...

Looks like the going rate for a wd is 7-2.

Funny enough a top 10 (out of 18 people) is just slightly better at 11-4.

Re: Just Keep Swimming

So here is one from this weekend.

Not to happy about it. Super shallow still, which is causing the draws/hooks but the length is getting about right.
