I haven't done either, but I did look into it. Are you planning on making an artificial turf one? Real grass costs a ton of money to upkeep (fertilizer, special mower, lots of water, etc).

Sargasso sea weed is the thing you see floating more than anything out there.
Yeah and that stuff is good to fish under.

Although I've never been into the sargasso sea, but I've certainly trolled along my share of weed lines. There is a lot of really tasty dinner under those weeds.

Re: recycling

I'll be the first to admit I don't do as good of a job as I'd like. Sure we recycle all of the cardboard/paper crap we use in our house. We get paper bags for groceries, and I can't remember the last time I drank water from a plastic bottle. We did buy 3 dozen bottled waters during hurricane season ...

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

I never think about taking pictures unless it's a different course I'm playing. Maybe I'll take some pictures of VB National next time I play. It's a Pete Dye course that use to host a web.com event every year. Doug will also think it's flat, but it does have water on 8 holes, actually on 10 but I'v...

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

What is the carry # on the left bunker? From the blues about 265-280, depending on where tees are set. Normally, in-season, with a good drive I can reach just to the back right side of that bunker, or roll into it if I jerk it a bit. When I am to the left of that bunker (when I really yank it), it'...

We need to revive this thread. I like pictures. I just received my electronic copy of our Maryland State Golf Association newsletter. I was flipping through the pages when I came upon the picture on page 8. I knew right away where it was. If you are interested, here's the link, below. I tried to ju...

Work the day after that was odd. Almost like a funeral, the UVA fans were in a quiet shock and even the VA tech fans weren't going to mess with them.

I don't like my SCOR wedge. It's probably my least favorite club in my bag, I just don't use it enough to justify dropping $120 on a new wedge right now.

Really hate to be a party pooper (story of my life) but I think this so-called award would much, much better received if it didn't come with an actual trophy. In that case I nominate Dougs trash can for the contest. It endured some very harsh weather over the last couple months and it did not post ...

Oh and you can't see but I have 7 wraps of tape under my lower hand and 4 wraps under my upper hand on that club (wedge). It's blue painters tape and fades into my clothes.

Also that old grip was on there for 22 months.

Re: The Get A Grip Thread

Ok so here is how to regret with air. You don't need the solvent, I use it because it makes getting the grip on part way easier also once it's on I can get the grip aligned like I want by twisting it. I normally have the pump in the passenger seat and everything is a lot easier with it higher, I cou...

Of course DougE and Beef are solid contenders and deserving of the win, but I’ll argue that Gobey’s 75 in 42F weather with wind and mud is a solid entry too and I’ll give him my vote. 👍

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

So looks like I was entirely wrong in most states. The golfer is not liable unless they intentionally hit the house. https://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/in-the-state-of-texas-who-is-responsible-for-a-gol-1387343.html That being said, if the guy wasn't an asshole about it I'd pay him the $150 or for a...

Also I've never broken anything (yet) on a golf course. I've hit some things before I hit a car once and left a note, but no one called. Only 1 time did the owner of the house come outside. The owner came outside ranting and raving like he was shocked that his house 20 yards right of the FW 220 yard...

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

So from a legal standpoint, yes you are liable for any damage caused by your golf ball. Just like boats owners are liable for damaged cause by their wake (although most boaters are too dumb to know this). I would argue that he should inform you if he has insurance that covers such incidents (althoug...
