Re: Just Keep Swimming

Finally hit one over 300 yards on the simulator. Let's ignore the 83 yards right haha.

Re: The Open

His only realistic chance is if wind picks up like it's calling for. If it's calm again he'll have to shoot a 62 at absolute worse to get the win, and that might not even be good enough if it's calm. If the wind blows shooting 3-4 under might be able to get it done. So I think he's praying for some ...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

So I found out that having enough room to swing a club and having enough room to hit a ball into a net (that you don't clip the club with on your follow through) and stop the ball before it hits something are actually drastically different. I have about 12' (I think) half to 8' of that is the swing ...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

I know NYC everything is small. But you don't need a ton of room as long as you're ok breaking it down and putting it up every time. I think the minimum amount of room to hit driver is 8' wide 12' long 10' high. I can measure my room later and see. As for breaking it down and setting it up when I ne...

Re: Random thoughts

I am usually impressed whenever a person can use both the words "your" and "you're" in the same sentence without fucking up. Except when that person is over the age of 13? This should be pretty standard, and I consider myself pretty substandard with grammar and spelling. Unless you're setting your ...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

So I must say this simulator is probably the best thing I've ever purchased. It gives me the freedom to do basically what ever I want. If you've ever thought of getting one and you have the space, I say go a head and do it. I talked my co-worker into getting one for her husband for fathers day. Norm...

Tiger looks stiff walking to the first tee, and has Michelle Wie tape slapped on his neck.

I'll start looking for tee-times. ☹️
Hold on, when was the last time Tiger opened w/ a FW/GIR and 1 putt birdie?

Re: The Open Picks

Tiger I mean with how short the course will play you should look for someone who is accurate and can putt recently Tiger hasn't really put both of these tributes together for 4 straight days. But I don't care. Length is negated by the course playing so fast. So someone like Brian Harmon wouldn't be ...

Re: Poison Ivy - What would you do?

In 30ish years of hitting balls into the woods and going to look for them, I've never gotten poison ivy. This conversation makes me wonder if I'm immune to it? About 15% of people have little to no reaction at all. Maybe I'm in the lucky few?

Cue poison ivy on my next trip to the trees.

Per the decision 1-4/11 in the current rules.

No poison ivy is not a "dangerous condition."

Re: Just Keep Swimming

So yesterday I was hitting some balls, when one of the oddest feelings in my golf life happened. I don't really know how to explain this, but I took a swing and mid back swing I really felt the club head. As in it was almost as if I were standing behind myself watching the club head. I felt like I c...

The down side to Habana is it's "fancy". Every good Cuban place in Tampa is a hole in the wall that is dirt cheap.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

So the only new places I went we're the Marriott (always fun eating at the hotel) and Habana.

Habana was a surprisingly good Cuban restaurant in spectrum. And that is saying a lot given I grew up in little Havana aka Tampa

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Yeah inside spectrum I've been to some "Mexican" restaurant Javiers or something (really more tex-mex or cali-mex than true Mexican food). My manager at the time loved watching real house wives and they went there a lot apparently. She said she wanted to go there, and I wasn't going to pitch a fit o...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I'm still waiting for your food recommendations for Irvine beef (or duke).

I only have 1 night unplanned this time, but I go out there 1 or 2 times a year for work. So for future reference it would be good.

Irvine is a bastion of exotica, Fish. Don't get too crazy.
Yeah I could see that. I mean they have a large selection of approved house colors. I don't know how people can choose from the 6 colors, it's just too many options.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Marriot Irvine Spectrum I'll take recommendations. But I have work things planed 2 of the 4 nights, and I have 9 holes of golf planned with a guy that works in the Irvine office 1 of the other nights. So it's really only 1 open night and again I'll have 2 other work people with me. I like getting Ko...

Re: How do you practice?

I'm starting to really enjoy practicing short game. Yesterday I was chipping the ball pretty well, I chipped in 3 or 4 times. My chipping still needs some work but it's exponentially better than 2 months ago. My big issue is not committing, any time I have 2 shots in my mind that I can hit, the resu...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Yeah that would help. But if I were him, I think it would be best to slow down his back yard green to a 6 or 7 on the stimp meter. Then putt until he's made 100 3' putts in a row. The move to 5' and make 50 in a row. If he is over using his right hand and shutting it down on short puts. Slow greens ...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

He was last in the field putting from inside 10'. But his was 7th in the field strokes gained putting. So if I had to guess he was 1st or 2nd in the field putting from outside 10'. His short range putting was just bad most of them I saw missed left (I only watched on Sunday). When I'm missing short ...
