Re: Stuff you find on the golf course (nsfw)

A friend of mine in TN always teed off on the 1st hole with a naked lady tee. He left it behind for the next group.

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Would you have been more ok with it had Phil let the ball roll out, declared it unplayable and elected to "replay the previous shot"? He intentionally broke a rule to gain an advantage even with taking a penalty, so I get how it's different than "using a rule to your advantage" but my above example ...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

That is called using the rules to your benefit. Anyone who plays golf competitively understands that this is expected and even encouraged. It's why knowing the rules is as important as knowing how to hit various shots. It is not cheating in any way to play the rules to your advantage. Period. Every...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I agree with the above. I think it will help more than it will hurt to have the flag in (in all situations). That being said I also think the frequency of someone hitting the flag stick on a putt that otherwise would not have gone in and the flag stick either 1) making it go in or 2) making it a clo...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Given how hard it is for most of us to hit the hole on our putts, I don't think the flag will make a significant difference. I feel like for me it will provide more benefit than for others, because I putt looking at the hole. So I feel like the flag stick being there will help me "aim small, miss sm...

I don't use the Grint, but I assume logging it even as a practice round would mess up your stats.

Thought it was ending yesterday morning, but it kept coming. Ended up with about 8 inches of snow. Though it never accumulated at a fast pace, it just kept snowing. From Saturday afternoon until late last night. About 30 hours, non-stop. It was a long, slow period of psychological pain and sufferin...

So I know nothing about basketball. The only thing I have followed is that my managers son led the NCAA div 1 in scoring 3 years ago (James Daniel III). He's only 6'0" so he now plays in Europe somewhere.

I'm in the rangefinder camp. It's the only thing I use.

Mine does not have slope because I'm too cheap to upgrade. Also there are no inclines/declines in Virginia Beach.

Ok I just saw Adam Svensson (who?) Drain a long one with the flag in. I might just be his biggest fan now.

Followed by si wo Kim draining one with the flag in. Shake that ass.
Just found out Svensson only made that one putt with the flag stick in. So I can go back to not knowing who he is.

Re: 2019 PGA Tour thread

Ok watching the Sony open I'm starting to think the pga tour has asked players to not leave the flag in. I'm shocked how no one is leaving it in. With how many of these guys work with Dave peltz who has already said he recommends leaving it in, in all situations. Obviously this request doesn't exten...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

To be clear I don't use SSG. I just use some of it's principals with my driver. So I'm not really a perfect person to respond. But what I notice is that yes I would be worried about worsening your shoulder by doing it. The goal is to swing as fast as you can with no regards to anything else. For me ...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Doug have you looked in to super speed golf? I know you always talk about not hitting it very "far" even though I think you do a good job of getting it out there. I read a lot about SSG in wrx and decided to give a modified version of it a try. Over the last 6ish months I've been spending a little t...

Re: Anyone seen this in NYC or other large cities?

Apparently there was a few Bird scooters around a bar in Norfolk. One of my co-workers and their friends started making fun of Bird and ripping on how it's a dumb idea in this area. Then they noticed someone paying attention and writing down stuff. It was a Bird marketing/sales person who was sent t...

I'm also shocked that Bryson was the only one leaving it in at the tournament of champions. I am not surprised. Most pro golfers seem extremely rigid people. Have you seen anyone drop from knee height yet? The pros look completely inept when they do. Because it's a tricky task? No. Because it's new...

Re: 2019 PGA Tour thread

I have left the flag in for the past several rounds. When I start to get close to the hole (say 20 feet and in) the presence of the flag stick is a bit of a distraction. I believe the flag stick helps as "sjd" outlined and assume having a flag stick in the hole will no longer be a distraction once ...

Re: Your All Time Easiest Hole?

Last time I checked it was #2 at Red Wing Lakes.

It's a par 5 that is about 480 from the tees I normally play. I think I had 8 birdies and 4 bogies with a bunch of pars when I checked last. All 4 of the bogies came from a drive that went left into the woods.

Not sure if it is even wet grass, as much as when it is wet, the greens are softer. When the greens are softer the ball digs a little more into the green, and the spin bites a little more. This was my thought, because on courses that have elivated greens (ie they don't hold water and are never soft...

In certain situations I use to flip the putter toe down and pop a ball out of thick rough that way, and one time a plugged lie in a bunker. It doesn't work with my current putter though.
