Re: Just Keep Swimming

Other than looking at how many different ways there are to get the club head back to square and moving at a fast speed. I don't really watch too many videos. I'm of the belief that if everyone on the planet played golf there would be 8 billion different "perfect" swings. I really just focus on small...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

yeah he is another example. He also has some quarkiness to his swing. His lead elbow breaks down at the top of his swing. He takes the club back pretty flat letting his left arm roll over his right, then the last 1/4 to 1/5 of his back swing he stands the club up more vertical. Then in transition he...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

I'm 6'. I'm not mimicking either of those swings, they both have numerous idiosyncrasies specific to them. I'm looking at their swings as motivation that a short swing can be powerful too. Actually there is no one I'm trying to model my swing after to be honest. I tried that for a while, and didn't ...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

Wow his stance is open. It really looks like he's trying to just hit a big push there. I've never really looked at his swing, but it looks like he does that on every shot. Here is rham, numerous things I don't like that I wouldn't apply to my swing. But very short as well. https://youtu.be/idChSwhlhik

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

I wonder if Charley Hoffman hates weekends.

I'm certain he has lost more money on Saturdays and Sundays than I'll make Monday-Friday my entire life.

Re: 2018 summer support group

Oh man, went to the range this morning before work. I think this will be the last time until fall that I try to hit full shots outside before work. What a terrible idea that was. I was spending 90% of my time concentrating on how to not be covered in sweat when I get into work. I'll either be headin...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

Try moving the ball an inch or two forward in your stance for a touch more spin and potentially, a better launch angle. Just for shits and giggles and to see what happens. Don't change anything else. I already have it off my left heel. But I have tried it as far as left little toe. It was a higher ...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

So on your advice I watched some John rham viedos noticed something I don't do (increase the angle between shaft and arms) in transition. I messed with this motion last night while keeping my right elbow in front of my body. A couple things I noticed were its extremely repeatable. Also ball speed in...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Course builders in the 1920s couldn't imagine green speeds that we are seeing today.

Newer courses have relatively flat areas where pins are placed. Some older courses don't have areas that are relatively flat.

Re: Just Keep Swimming

I'm from Florida. I played at a retirement community for 25+ years lol.

But yeah I like watching John rhams swing for that reason. There are things I don't like about his swing but it's really short and he murders the ball.

Re: Just Keep Swimming

Distance has always been my "ace in the hole" so to speak. Also distance is probably the biggest thing that defines the ceiling in anyone's golfing ability. As well as the fact that distance is the hardest thing to lean in the game. I'm not some crazy monster off the tee with distance to spare. So m...

Re: Dumb club question.

Yeah I am trying to get some final things dialed in on my swing then my plan next year is to get a full bag fitting (other than putter), unless I'm just striping my irons then I'll just do Dr, down to 4i(h). I got fit for these clubs about 5-6 years ago. But that swing and my current swing are night...

Dumb club question.

So does anyone know if the Taylormades burner (yes the old one) shat labeled as "S" is for stiff or senior? It's 60g.

I've always hated my 3h and now that I got this 4h which acts completely different I'm wondering if the shaft is wrong.

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Doug I'm going to get up that way one day and play there with you. I just need to figure out how to hit the ball straighter off the tee first haha. But if you ever want to meet half way (or halfish way like Williamsburg) let me know I'll take a day off work and meet you somewhere between. There is ...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

So my last round I really tried to focus on moving the ball towards the target, and not on my golf swing. Things went well on the front 9. I had one mental flub on a chip, but got up & down on the next chip. I also didn't trust my read on the 3' putt on the 1st hole which lead to a 3 putt. 2 mental ...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

I'm not sure

14-5 clearly sounds like it's your obligation to not hit a moving ball. But if you happen to do it then it's 2 strokes. It doesn't come off to me like it's your option to either 1) not hitting a moving ball or 2) hit a moving ball and get a 2 stroke penalty.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Ok here is my last round if anyone cares. www.gamegolf.com/player/jasonfish11/round/2231631 I had 3 times where I hit 2 chips on a hole. Two of which were just complete mental flubs. I had 2 shots in mind and didn't decide between them until I started taking the club back. Huge no no. The 3rd was po...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Ok I went and looked at the rule. Now I changed my mind.

14-5.
A player must not make a stroke at his ball while it is moving.

It clearly states you must not... I assumed it was worded like "if a player hits a moving ball..."

Given the wording I think a DQ would have been appropriate.

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

I don't really get why everyone is pissed at Phil for intentionally breaking a rule for his precieved advantage? He didn't try to hide it or not take the penalty. This happens all the time in other sports. Intentionally delay of game to give the punter 5 extra yards of field to work with. Intentiona...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

5.5 hour round. Shot an 83 but my iron play was great. My tee ball got away from me on the back 9. Also the greens dried out and picked up quite a bit of speed quickly. They were pretty quick earlier but they were 1-2 feet faster by the end of the round.
