Re: Cold Weather and Hands

I walk 99% of the time in the winter. What would be best is if I got a "motorized" push cart so that both hands could stay in my pockets. Either that or if I just sacked up and carried my bag.

I put mine on after every hole. But mine is held on with magnets.

Re: Random golf thoughts

I assume anyone that uses the word "gamer" to describe the equipment they use is not enjoyable to play a round of golf with.

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Doug, My wife is asking what I want for Christmas. I need a new pair of "dry" golf shoes. I normally got the cheap fj countour fit or something like that, but don't see them. I'm likely going to just buy them on Amazon. What are a few different good shoes to keep dry in? (Obviously dryjoys but need ...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

So yesterday I went and played a new course that was supposed to be a really nice course. So I don't even know what I shot, it was something in the 90's. I wasn't at risk of hitting triple digits (shot a 42? on the front), but I also had no shot at breaking 90. Lots of 7's on the back 9, I think I ...

Re: Random thoughts

Man he makes that look so simple. I did a lot of skateboarding for 3-5 years during high school and college. I remember in college there were about 8 of us that would all meet up in a parking lot on the edge of campus Monday nights. We brought our own ramps, rails, and boxes. The cops started to sho...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Cameron Champ. Is he the next generation bomber? His slowest recorded ball speed this year is 190.52 mph. That is 2.5mph faster than the fastest recorded ball speed last year on the PGA tour. So far he's averaging 193.25mph ball speed, which is 8.38mph faster than #2 Brandon Hagy. To put in perspect...

Re: Bunker Play

Typically I attempt #1 and either hit it fat leaving it short or hit too much ball sending it long.

Luckily I do see this shot often.

I guess I actually shot 114. I left the pin in on all but one hole (brain fart and took it out).

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

Ok so I have a couple good shots from this round (although my above comment still stands). #11. I was behind a tree and grabbed wedge to punch out, then at the last minute I had a "vision" or what ever you want to call it. I saw a window in the trees and knew it was a slice 8i. I knew I could slice ...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Decided to play today instead of tomorrow. Today was warmer less wind, but had rain for most of the day. Shot 80 after being +6 through 6 holes. After a shaky start I was able to get the swing I've been making on the simulator to start working. I hit my irons amazingly as you can see in the strokes ...

Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

Thinking of making my last round of golf for the year Sunday then I'll be fully engaged in destroying/rebuilding a bathroom. Looks like it has a high of 58 degrees with 20 mph winds. Sounds glorious.

I was too lazy to start the winter support group thread.

Re: Just Keep Swimming

So since my last videos I've made some small simple changes and the results are incredible. The two things I focus on are taking the club back vertically and keeping some flex in my trail knee. In the video I was bringing the club back low then lifting it causing and OTT move to avoid a snap hook. T...

Very nice round. I plan to have 1 more round of golf before I'm locked in doing bathroom remodeling stuff for 6 weeks. That will be my year.

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Another one I didn't include, mostly because it is only a "recommendation" is the 40-second time span in which to hit the ball. I foresee that one getting ugly on a busy golf course. I wouldn't be surprised if guys like Beef start carrying stopwatches and air horns in their bags. I picture him stan...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Think of it this way. If one group in 20 has a guy/girl that is wanting to putt the opposite way of the group we can agree that there is no time savings and it might take them a hair longer to play. Now look at a busy course that sends a group off every 8 min. That means that there is a 33% chance t...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I agree it won't really have any effect on someone's handicap (at best half a stroke). But some of the rules do nothing but make the game easier. Leaving the pin in, does this really speed up play? Maybe for a single, but they couldn't post handicap scores anyway, so they can putt flag in now (I do ...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I agree with you Beef. They keep saying the changes are to make understanding the rules easier, but when you look at it that's not true. How is it easier to understand dropping from knee height than shoulder height? How is it easier to know you had 2 club lengths to drop a ball compared to this new ...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Interesting - is the flag stick rule one that applies to everyone or just amateurs? Interested in seeing what the pros start doing. I'm pretty sure it applies to everyone. I also think it will be interesting to see what pro's do. I expect the stats minded guys will leave it in (Bryson comes to mind...

Before you apply, better learn to spell Callaway. ;)
