Re: Swinging an upside-down club

I'm not really doing it for speed training but the current science seems to favor using lighter-than-normal weighted implements over heavier. My understanding is that the speed training concept is to use slightly lighter weight, like something that weighs 85% of a normal club. Not excessively light...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Just browsed some Skygolf scores. You all are playing regular golf, and shooting some decent scores. I am glad to see that. Me and Furr on the other hand are hanging out on the fringe. Of golf participation. Demographically speaking, we are just barely considered golfers. I'm in a strange spot righ...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Management admitted the hole was not placed appropriately and will speak with the groundskeeper concerned (apparently he's the only one there who doesn't actually play golf!) One of the courses I played in TN resurfaced their greens w/ bermuda. Growing up in FL I knew that some of the pin positions...

That was a big one.

Yeah she is fine, although w/o power.

On the lighter side my parents sail boat also made it through unscathed (although one dock fender did pop/deflate).

Re: Hurricane watch

So I found out that my parents neighbor is staying (ie can't get out) and she is actually going to his house with him, his wife and her mom. He will be able to do anything I would have. So I didn't head down.

Re: Hurricane watch

So I never do this but it's looking worse every update. Please keep my grandma in your minds. She's at a point where she basically isn't able to get out of Pinellas county. She's heading to my parents house and will be there on her own. It looks like Pinellas is going to be a direct hit with a cat 3...

Re: Hurricane watch

My parents are out of town so my 94 year old grandmother is planning to just ride it out from their house in Clearwater. Their house is basically the highest point in Clearwater, where as her house is in the 2nd flood zone. I offered to go down there and bring her up to Virginia but she insisted tha...

Re: Hurricane watch

Jason, keep an eye on this thing. If it turns north and misses FL altogether, the Carolinas and even Virginia may be in its sights. Probably not, but stay in tune. Are you near the shore? Yeah I'm watching it. Mainly because I have family down in Florida (west coast thankfully). I'm about a 10 min ...

Re: The Presidents Cup 2017

If Phil puts himself on the team I am definitely not attending and supporting that kind of nonsense. I have had it up to here with Phil Mickelson drama bullshit. Just earlier this year he was wearing everyone the fuck out with his whole US Open drama. So you going to book a tee time at Dyker that w...

Re: Hurricane watch

So here is a weather buoy that is north of Puerto Rico. http://solspot.com/buoy/south-western-atlantic/history/ It will continue to register wave height until it goes offline. Current wave height is around 17' and climbing quickly. I remember monitoring these buoys during Katrina (except I was looki...

Re: Hurricane watch

FWIW, a sport fishing vessel would have virtually no chance. Their hulls are not designed or built to take rollovers. Once they go over 180 degrees, they don't typically come back up. A sailboat is designed to roll. Well, at least one designed and built to go offshore is. Either way it isn't fun. L...

Re: Hurricane watch

That's crazy. I've been in 12' seas in a power boat and was not happy about that. I couldn't imagine doubling that wave size. I know power boats are completely different than sail boat in high seas but power boats have some agility so you can at least put the bow into the waves. I would feel terrifi...

Re: Strange Things During A Round

But really, who calls it in? Unless of course, they are holding up play. I agree, but why wouldn't you just play as is. I mean they were so far off the tee box that someone had to use a range finder to see what was going on. So hitting them with your drive won't cause any damage (other than they mi...

I was wondering if this was better in this thread or in the "other uses for range finders" thread. :rofl

Same here. It's tropical storm rain they generally feel that way due to the winds.

This hot weather sucks. I can't practice anything but putting before work with out sweating through my shirt. With a quick change next to my car it somehow stayed cool enough in the mornings that I was able to continue working on my swing up until this week. I think there was 1 week that it was insa...

My entire department (100ish people) walked outside to share the 15 glasses we had.

I was in a meeting so I got to see the tail end when it was 75% coverage or so. It was so inspiring I can't even put it into words. Oh wait yeah I can "ah, I got to go back to work."
