Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Very nice round. I plan to have 1 more round of golf before I'm locked in doing bathroom remodeling stuff for 6 weeks. That will be my year.

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Another one I didn't include, mostly because it is only a "recommendation" is the 40-second time span in which to hit the ball. I foresee that one getting ugly on a busy golf course. I wouldn't be surprised if guys like Beef start carrying stopwatches and air horns in their bags. I picture him stan...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Think of it this way. If one group in 20 has a guy/girl that is wanting to putt the opposite way of the group we can agree that there is no time savings and it might take them a hair longer to play. Now look at a busy course that sends a group off every 8 min. That means that there is a 33% chance t...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I agree it won't really have any effect on someone's handicap (at best half a stroke). But some of the rules do nothing but make the game easier. Leaving the pin in, does this really speed up play? Maybe for a single, but they couldn't post handicap scores anyway, so they can putt flag in now (I do ...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I agree with you Beef. They keep saying the changes are to make understanding the rules easier, but when you look at it that's not true. How is it easier to understand dropping from knee height than shoulder height? How is it easier to know you had 2 club lengths to drop a ball compared to this new ...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Interesting - is the flag stick rule one that applies to everyone or just amateurs? Interested in seeing what the pros start doing. I'm pretty sure it applies to everyone. I also think it will be interesting to see what pro's do. I expect the stats minded guys will leave it in (Bryson comes to mind...

This is the most definitive research I've seen.

Calloway golf is hiring a director of finance in Carlsbad CA.

Hmmmm.
Before you apply, better learn to spell Callaway. ;)
Haha

I'll put that on my list of things to do right before I apply.

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I don't really see the need for any of them. I guess my favorite is no penalty for accidentally hitting your ball while searching for it. Some of the others are nice and might lower my score by a stroke every 4 rounds, but I don't think they are needed. The flag in/out will be interesting. Statistic...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

Went to the range and got some ugly videos today. To be fair it wasn't all bad. I noticed my right knee straightening and then my hips slide slightly away from the target right at the end of my back swing. I made some adjustments to stop this and keep some flex in my right knee, man what a differenc...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

Already have a best shot of October. I went upstairs to hit some balls and my son came up to hit some with me. I don't push him to play, and this is the 2nd or 3rd time he's asked. So we went up and alternated shots. He hit a "driver" (really a us kids 3w) 68 yards. I don't know if that is good for ...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

I don't know if this helps my game or not, but days when I am frustrated I'll head up stairs for some driver stress relief. My only goal is to see how far I can carry the driver. A couple months ago it was common for the carry to be 240-250, but rarely over 260 even when I was trying to rip the net....

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

So yesterday I went and played a new course that was supposed to be a really nice course. So I don't even know what I shot, it was something in the 90's. I wasn't at risk of hitting triple digits (shot a 42? on the front), but I also had no shot at breaking 90. Lots of 7's on the back 9, I think I h...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

So the course I played today was different. Lots of houses and big thick rough like Doug shows in his pics. Shot of the month for me. After blocking a 3w into the tree we find a ball in the rough barely visible. I have 181 to the flag with a bunker short. I took a massive rip at a 6i and launched it...

Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

I'm actually going to play real life outdoor golf today. I'm going to a new course in the area. I'm sure I'll either strike the ball well and shoot something between 75 & 83 or play like crap shoot 88+. If it's the latter I'm probably making it my last round of the "season". I have some bathroom re...

If not at least I'll have a sledgehammer in hand to release stress.
Should we talk about sledgehammer technique before you get started? Ya know, like, grip, stance, weight transfer, path...... We could start a new thread.
I wonder if I can get a sledgehammer simulator?

What is this Facebook you speak of?

I closed down my account in 2010 or 2011, I did open it back up 1 day in 2013 to get someone's contact info but I've survived with out it.

There is a professional screen golf tour in Korea, just sayin. Sorry for the delayed response.
