Re: NCAA 2019 Basketball Tournament

Work the day after that was odd. Almost like a funeral, the UVA fans were in a quiet shock and even the VA tech fans weren't going to mess with them.

Re: Remember the Wedge Guy from Oob?

I don't like my SCOR wedge. It's probably my least favorite club in my bag, I just don't use it enough to justify dropping $120 on a new wedge right now.

Re: 3rd Annual Frozen Balls Challenge - 2018-2019

Really hate to be a party pooper (story of my life) but I think this so-called award would much, much better received if it didn't come with an actual trophy. In that case I nominate Dougs trash can for the contest. It endured some very harsh weather over the last couple months and it did not post ...

Well I was going to vote for gbogey, but the desire to not have the physical trophy is a slap in the face of the competition. So beef is getting my vote.

Re: The Get A Grip Thread

Oh and you can't see but I have 7 wraps of tape under my lower hand and 4 wraps under my upper hand on that club (wedge). It's blue painters tape and fades into my clothes.

Also that old grip was on there for 22 months.

Re: The Get A Grip Thread

Ok so here is how to regret with air. You don't need the solvent, I use it because it makes getting the grip on part way easier also once it's on I can get the grip aligned like I want by twisting it. I normally have the pump in the passenger seat and everything is a lot easier with it higher, I cou...

Of course DougE and Beef are solid contenders and deserving of the win, but I’ll argue that Gobey’s 75 in 42F weather with wind and mud is a solid entry too and I’ll give him my vote. 👍
Oh forgot about that one.

No it's now the forums trophy.

I meant who currently has it at their house.

Re: 3rd Annual Frozen Balls Challenge - 2018-2019

So tomorrow is the last day of the challenge. From me shooting 96 killing my will to play much in the last couple months, to Doug having to deal w/ injury and weather. I feel like there has really only been 1 reasonable choice for this years Frozen Balls Challenge. Does anyone have any other nominee...

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

So looks like I was entirely wrong in most states. The golfer is not liable unless they intentionally hit the house. https://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/in-the-state-of-texas-who-is-responsible-for-a-gol-1387343.html That being said, if the guy wasn't an asshole about it I'd pay him the $150 or for a...

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

Also I've never broken anything (yet) on a golf course. I've hit some things before I hit a car once and left a note, but no one called. Only 1 time did the owner of the house come outside. The owner came outside ranting and raving like he was shocked that his house 20 yards right of the FW 220 yard...

Re: Interesting story and a question about etiquette vs liability

So from a legal standpoint, yes you are liable for any damage caused by your golf ball. Just like boats owners are liable for damaged cause by their wake (although most boaters are too dumb to know this). I would argue that he should inform you if he has insurance that covers such incidents (althoug...

Older thread here but this is happening now. Affects driver only. Weird. As a lefty I set up with a strong grip. As I approach the top my left hand re grips in a weak grip resulting in an open face thru contact. That is not the only battle I have but it certainly has a significant impact on ball fl...

Re: How do you handle back stopping?

For me everything is about how quickly the group is playing. I quite often chip w/o the other person marking, but I'll do this when their ball is blocking the hole just as often as when their ball is past the hole. I just want to keep moving, and unless you are briskly walking up to mark/tap in your...

Re: How do you handle back stopping?

I rarely think about backstopping. I think one of the things missing from the conversations about this is if you are good enough to purposely hit someone's ball, why not hit the cup instead. I don't think that is missing at all from the conversation. I my mind it just has no relevance at all. The b...

I think a "celebratory" fist bump after using someone else's ball shows that there was an "unspoken" agreement. I feel that is enough to indicate that both people should be assessed 2 strokes. I would have even backed a DQ for both players to set an example. https://goo.gl/images/KbK753 IMG tags fo...

Re: Backstopping/Collusion controversy in pro golf

It is insanely dishonest to say that it didn't occur to you that an object lying at rest just beyond the hole could potentially help your shot. It's almost like claiming that you didn't realize that the shortest distance between two points was a straight line. We are talking basic, basic physics he...
