Re: What did you shoot today?

I never posted last weekend as it was too ugly - 85/87. The only positive was that the 85 didn't have a DB, which made it my highest round since I moved without a DB by six strokes. Ugly. Today, with low expectations, I was greeted at the range by +20 mph winds. Somehow muddled through even about ha...

Re: Best Shot of the Month

I hammered a 5w. Flight was right on target. Ended up on apron pin high 25’. Decided to putt as anything can go wrong chipping. Uphill left to right. Figured easy birdie. I hit it. The pace and line were good. As it climbed to the peak it turned right and died in the cup. Best 3 shots I’ve put toge...

Re: PGA/LIV/DPW 2023

It was nice to see a field worth watching. Really don't pay attention like I used to. Too many tournaments without any top players.

Re: What did you shoot today?

84, which was borderline to be called mediocre. Tough conditions as it was super windy, maybe about as windy as I’ve played in here. Two of my best struck irons missed as you saw the ball change direction in midair. Three miserable stats stand out: 1. 4 DB’s - one bad drive, two bad sand shots (out ...

Re: What did you shoot today?

Another half full / half empty. 78 from same tees - if you had told me 78 pre-round I would have been thrilled. Instead, mixed emotions as I was +1 for 11 holes. Absolutely great golf for first 11 - only two bogeys were an mis club and a 9i that went further than expected on an absolutely solid hit....

Re: What did you shoot today?

One of those days trying to decide if the glass was half full or half empty. Rained hard last night so I played up a tee. Three penalty strokes - ugly, and three irons which were too well struck - went long when I didn't I enough club to reach the hole - still hit my target score of 80. So was a goo...

Re: What did you shoot today?

81 on Saturday on one of our courses and 81 on Sunday on the other. Both days had some really good stuff, and some abnormally bad to give away 3-4 shots. Concentration just isn't there like it used to be. At least my mediocre rounds are starting to be 81's instead of 84's.

Re: 2024 - Club Memberships & Season Passes

Matt, I don't understand how this can possibly be profitable. How does any golf course worth playing survive with a $400 two-season pass fee? Our morning foursome rate on a weekend is nearly $500 for one single foursome, for one single round! My guess is that the pro shop guy at Matt's club works f...

Re: 2024 - Club Memberships & Season Passes

We set our 7-day anytime pass to $7000 (plus a $25 cart fee per round if used) this year, but then decided we don't need, or really even want, to encourage weekend morning pass purchases. My guess is that the pre-covid cost was half of $7000. It makes me feel good - I'm paying about $6000 a year to...

Re: 2024 - Club Memberships & Season Passes

Kind of shocked these deals are still around. I hear stories hear about pre-Covid there was a golf book you could buy for like $200. All of the Kiawah courses were in it as were all the other public courses around Charleston. The Kiawah tee times were worth like $700 by themselves. Of course, pre-co...
