Re: What did you shoot today?

About a week ago I flirted with shooting my age. Par 72 course and I was -1 through 16 holes. Managed to bogey both closing holes (where is the hand slapping the face emoji when I need it???). Ordinarily, a 73 would make me very happy, but not this time. I was back at the scene of my crime yesterday...

Re: Best Shot of the Month

February had only 3 rounds. My trip to Hilltop had some lovely shots and some horrendous ones. Lovliest was the 3-wood into the wind to the 187 yard par-3 green. Such a silken swing and I glanced up and a slight draw was headed for the hole. Stopped 10 feet away and I couldn't coax the ball into the...

Nice eagle. Almost any round that includes an eagle is a good one. I would consider the round a good one and then think about how good it could have been. If only ... ;)

Re: What did you shoot today?

Slogged around a little local course that was not too busy. 81 (par 70). Some good shots and some awful ones. Greens were incredibly slow and they were visibly "fuzzy." Still, it was a nice stroll in sunny 55 degree weather.

Re: 2024 - Club Memberships & Season Passes

Year before COVID, a club in our area did something like Matt's course. They sold a 2-year annual pass for $200. I think they did it again the next year. A couple of my thoughts were: a. the course was not especially walker friendly so the course may have anticipated a lot of cart revenue b. They ma...

My guess is that the pro shop guy at Matt's club works for free golf whereas the Worthington Pro Shop guy makes big bucks both from the course and from pushing Titleist.
Yes, the $1,000,000 General Manager at Worthington. Of course, he is the stick that stirs the drink. ;)

Remains the greatest golf deal in the USA. $200 a year for unlimited golf.

Re: 2024 - Club Memberships & Season Passes

We set our 7-day anytime pass to $7000 (plus a $25 cart fee per round if used) this year, but then decided we don't need, or really even want, to encourage weekend morning pass purchases. People are willing to pay $7,000 plus a $25 cart fee! Of course, you guys run 365 days a year, weather ...

2024 - Club Memberships & Season Passes

I used to purchase a season pass for the City of Ann Arbor golf courses (2). That was 30 years ago. I did it for 3-4 years. The annual cost was around $325 ($350 if purchased after March 1). Walking only. It was a break even situation for me as I worked full time. After work there were leagues clogg...
