My swing issue

So I've sucked with my iron/wedge play last several rounds, however on 18th hole of an otherwise forgettable round, I thought back to the near 70's round from last month. At that time, I'd identified a setup issue (open shoulders at address) and made a conscious effort the whole round to correct it ...

Re: 2019 PGA Tour thread

Attend, but make sure you're properly attired (boat shoes and popped collar) and hammered no later than 10am on vodka drinks. Lots of yelling on tee shots, too.

Re: N.B.A.

The 2 best teams in basketball might be playing in the same arena next year. If you factor in baseball and football, I don't know if L.A. has ever been this dominant.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Hey, you and I are on same track, Matt. I posted a 98 last week, but 85 yesterday. My hcp is about as low as it's ever been at 14.0 (next revision).

Getting out and playing regularly helps.

I'm playing this Sunday. Considering keeping score manually on paper until such time as I've broken 80, whenever that occurs. It's hot here too.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Great round for you yesterday, Spencer. 5 birdies is impressive, plus 61% of GIR. Seems like it could have been even lower, based on the 18th hole score. Was the pressure setting in, knowing you had such a great round going? I know that feeling well. Congrats on a memorable round. Thanks guys. Yes,...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Shot 80 with 5 birdies after several mediocre rounds in the 90s. Personal bests in birdies and GIR%.

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I once bought a 5 pack of Mizuno golf gloves on ebay. They tore like paper, even just putting them on. Not sure if they'd been compromised in the heat or something, or just bad quality control, but they were crap. Yeah, I get that too thick of a glove is like taking a shower with a rain coat on and ...

Matthew Wolff

So everyone saw Hovland at the U.S. Open, but his Cowboys teammate Wolff is making the jump early to the pros tomorrow.

Cool to see a little unorthodoxy:

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I like the mg gloves for $6.99 or whatever they cost. I normally would just throw in 2-4 pair of them when I buy balls to limit shipping costs. https://www.mggolf.com/golf-gloves/ That's a pretty good deal, comparable to the Costco pricing. I might try those after I run through my Costco ones.

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Got my Costco gloves. A) they run big and 2) the leather is thick. This ain't no Titleist Playa'z Glove, you can kiss that dream goodbye. :facepalm I have the Costco gloves. I actually thought they were pretty supple, and have been pretty durable so far. Then again, I never used the Titleist Player...

I struggle with the historical context. A year from now, did last year's Web.com tour winner win the Web.com or the Korn Ferry? Does history get renamed?
Yes. Ben Hogan is a 3 time Genesis Open winner.

Re: The Korn Ferry Tour

I pretty much despise the transition to corporate branding, except in cases where sounds quasi-'natural' (e.g. Oracle Arena, United Center, Nationwide Tour). When it doesn't, it just sounds like crap rolling off the tongue (Qualcomm Stadium (which recently converted to a more horrible name - the SDC...

Wha? You didn't like Lance? Dude's from Brooklyn and strums the f'ing guitar after he hits a shot. If there's anyone you can root for, I thought it'd be him.
