Re: Rahm #5 in the world and why that's impressive

So he's now a year and a half into his pro career and set to overtake Spieth for #2 in the world.

Nothing?

Re: ebay

I've bought pretty much every golf related thing (irons, rangefinder, grips, balls, gloves) on eBay, with the exception of my current driver, which I bought on the BST section of GolfWRX

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

So I'm attending not one but two days of some Riviera golf! Ha! I'm gonna buy me some boat shoes, smoke a cigar and sport like 9 popped collars. I will not be out-douchebro'd.

Totally rad, dude. That ensemble is probably worth more than my car, which I sleep in at the beach, with my husband, who's a rainbow colored surfboard.

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Tiger committed to Riviera. I've attended the past several years, usually on a weekend, but I'm contemplating going on a Thurs or Fri this year, to possibly follow Tiger without the weekend crowds (and who knows if he'll make the cut there.) I've been at tourneys with Tiger before, and it's generall...

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

Rain's gone. I'm golfing on Monday. Did you reorganize your closet with all your downtime Doug? I did, inspired by your photos. I even color coordinated.

If it's any consolation to you all, it's pouring rain here so I too, am stuck inside. Like I had time to golf anyway.

Beef, you seem to like sci fi. Have you checked out Black Mirror? It's on Netflix. It's an anthology series, each episode is its own autonomous story. Some are better than others. Started on BBC.

It's my goal for 2018. I shot 83 and 84 in 2nd half of 2017. Iron play is holding me back.

Re: What are you getting/did you get for Christmas

Yes, I should have been more specific. FootJoy DryJoys Tour shoes are waterproof. I have about 4 pairs of them right now, in addition to 3 pairs of FJ Sports, a better quality, somewhat sportier shoe. Lesser expensive FJ shoes, like Contours and some of the more casual styles do not have a 2-year w...

Re: Membership opportunity at my club

You'd be a fool not to do it, Doug, at the rate you play. Sounds like they need some short term cash since they're limiting it to 20 people. If you pass it up, you'll likely regret it. Hopefully, you've already signed the papers.

Re: The significance of wrist hinge/set/cock

Some golfers supinate thru impact, others (like Zach Johnson), hold off the release.

I'm not sure that it's possible to pronate through impact. You'd hit the ball with the sole of the club instead of the face.

Re: While on the Subject of Travelin' Golf

163 miles round trip to play Saticoy in Ventura. Distance wasn't the issue, driving across L.A. from Orange Co. during peak was the problem. 6 hours of sitting in traffic for less than 5 hours of golf made it a net miserable experience overall. Sucks because I really liked the course, but will never...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Shot 89 yesterday in high winds on a long-ish par 73 track. Four consecutive rounds in the 80's. Trying to keep the streak going.

Main goal right now is keeping the big numbers off the card. Had 2 disappointing triples (both on par 3's), otherwise pretty clean. 1 birdie.

Re: How far do you have to travel to your home course?

If you think MattF has it rough, get ready to cry into your coffees. These are my travel times to the closest courses. Dyker Beach: 0:50 (if the bus shows up on time and traffic is light) to 1:10 on a slow subway ride. Silver Lake, 1:15. Marine Park and Pelham in the Bronx, 1:20. Are those times on...

Re: Practicing golf at home!

I don't practice inside the house anymore.

In my old house, I broke the ceiling fan and ripped the carpet like an idiot. Now I just occasionally gouge the back lawn.

I'd like to setup a fancy inside monitor/hitting bay some day, but need to build a garage first.

Re: How far do you have to travel to your home course?

20 minutes

I'm fortunate. I live within 25 min from at least 15 golf courses (more if counting private ones)

And yes, I'll travel further to play better or different courses.
