Re: The New 2019 Rules

It's also more likely to settle near to where the user wants it to settle. This is far more typical than a lucky upward bounce IMO.

Re: N.B.A.

Yeah, they're a bad team without LBJ. With him, they're only pretty good. They really lack mid and long range shooting. Ball's got skills but his pass-first mentality doesn't work if the people that are on the receiving end can't catch and shoot or at least make a single pivot and put it up. They n...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I took a couple of drops yesterday, 2019 style. Definitely easier to get a choice lie. Let's face it, whenever you drop, you are usually wanting to land on a certain spot. Okay so maybe that is not the spirit of the rule, but it is human nature and cannot be avoided. So taking a drop is like taking ...

Re: N.B.A.

The Sad Lakers looked alright last night. Tough schedule coming up though. Games against opponents with actual winning records, more national TV exposure :devil

Re: January Golf!

I snuck in through that window today. Never got above 40 but sun was out and winds low. Felt quite alright out there. Ground was firm but only got a couple frozen bounces. First time at Dyker Beach in like seven months. Greens are in very rough shape. I didn't break 80 but I broke 40 on the front ni...

Re: N.B.A.

I must say, the Lonzo Ball conversation on the internet is hilarious. When Brandon Ingram or Kuzma or anyone has a bad shooting night, it's because they stink at basketball. But when Lonzo goes 5-14 or whatever... "at least he was trying to make shots". The fake hype around this guy is like Rickie F...

Re: N.B.A.

Lakers on national TV again tomorrow night :lolz You can run but you can't hide, Lonzo Ball.

Da poor Bulls are 10-33 but you know what? That's still better than the Cavs record, and they looked pretty awesome last night, holding the Sad Lakers to under 100 points.

Re: N.B.A.

Man, they all sucked. Terrible shooting all around from the field and stripe. Whole team seemed listless and low-energy, except for a few guys in spurts. He had a few good buckets in the first quarter but outside of that he sucked. You know who I am talking about. Yeah obviously other guys did most...

Re: January Golf!

Tiny window opening up early in the week. I griped about soft conditions all winterlong but expect to find a very different Earth the next time I get out there. Probably will be frozen solid and play very short. I don't care. I feel so good about my so-called swing right now, anything is possible.

Sorry Doug that's a tough break. We didn't get any. As a result I got an eye on Tuesday, about 40 degrees. Sorry. I'll think of you while I'm out there.

Re: N.B.A.

Wow, they got to you. I don't know much about basketball but Lonzo Ball does not look like a starting caliber NBA point guard. 2nd or 3rd reserve maybe. He makes a good pass in transition once in a while, and then it gets spread around the internet by the Big Baller army of trolls. Some of it is the...

Leave him alone, you bully. I like Ball. He's the most fun player to watch on the Lakers. Who's your team anyway? The basement dwelling Knicks?
I love that Duke is always there to set me straight on pop culture ephemera phenomena such as the Ball brothers, or Elon Musk. :lolz

Re: N.B.A.

Whoa, that reminds me. I once passed by Kareem Abdul Jabbar on an 8th street sidewalk. We made eye contact! It happened so fast it doesn't even seem real. Same thing happened with Robin Williams by the way, a couple blocks away. He and I crossed 3rd avenue going opposite ways and made eye contact. H...

Re: N.B.A.

I first became aware of the NBA in 1962, the year we moved to the Boston area. No NBA noise in Appleton, Wisconsin, back then. Just the Packers and Braves. My formative years involved the Bill Russell led Celtics beating down Wilt and the Sixers and then LA and Jerry West every spring. Those were t...

Re: N.B.A.

Ha ha they lost tonight on ESPN to the Utah Jizz. That Donovan Mitchell kid looks like in a different league than Lonzo Ball. Who went 3-13 from the field and as usual 0-0 from the stripe, on account of the free throw yips and what not. Don't tell me he is the most entertaining on the Lakers. In cas...

Re: N.B.A.

That was totally harsh of me to rip on Lonzo Ball's face and zits. In fairness what I should have ripped on is his 38% field goals, and his free throw yips.

Re: N.B.A.

Been following the Lakers and enjoying watching them struggle. Weird how life works. Probably my greatest memory as a sports fan is watching Magic Johnsons and the '88 Lakers beat the Pistons to win back to back NBA titles. Now I watch games and hope to see this same organization get its ass beat by...

Matt Kuchar leads, trailed by perennial non-cool guys Chez and Ted Potter. Man when the PGATOUR product sucks, it really sucks. Kuchar is the king of non-cool people. That Skechers commercial where he goes "Gee, I feel like I could dancing in these shoes!" makes me physically ill. He doesn't actuall...

I got my Footjoys in the mail today. I tried them on though, and not feeling any joy yet. My last pair were cheaper models, Superlites or something. But definitely made a better first impression. When I first put those on, I felt some joy. These Freestyle (2.0)'s feel I dunno, bulky. Guess I need to...
