Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

Been in Florida for about a week. Played 0 rounds. Hip/back problem erupted while driving down. No idea what happened. After nearly a week of barely being able to move, yesterday I saw some slight progress. So, late afternoon, I took my wife to the local course (a dump) to re-establish her swing a ...

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

If someone here other than me tunes into LPGA, even for 15 minutes, I consider that huge. Somehow got a reprieve last night--they moved up the TV coverage to a much more useful 10pm ET. Thus I actually watched quite a bit of it. Great leaderboard. Best of the best. Tonight the coverage goes back to ...

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

74 today. I hate it. Warmth is nice but there is a time and place for everything. I like a nice glass of scotch and a dry aged fucking porterhouse, but if you put that in my face at 10am I might start dry heaving. Time and a place for everything.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

This week the LPGA coming at you live from Thailand. The land of vertical smiles, or so they say. This one is a real test of LPGA fandom. 1-5am ET coverage. I might get to see a half hour tops before dozing off. 😴

Re: WTF did you buy today?

It's gonna be tough to find a single iron. I just found an MP 59 in 'good' condition with a Project X 5.5 shaft for $99. So, kinda pricey for just one iron. https://www.ironfinder.com/item_detail.asp?sku=125356 There are 4 MP 59 8 irons available on Ebay right now. You can easily find a Project X 5...

Or are we just saying once someone is that bad we don't care anymore?
Hmm, possibly. And why not! Do we really need to strive for such accuracy at the bottom end of things? Does it really matter if all the varying levels of ability beyond a 36 handicap are accounted for?

Hell no, is what I say.

Re: Early Extension

Forget about the hips for a moment and try driving the right knee in towards the left. I don't know, just a thought. That is the last thing I do, just before starting back with the club. I preset the right knee inward. My club pro gave me this tip last year during a 2-hr lesson and it made a world ...

So not sure how you can be a 54 handicap with a double bogey max.
Good observation. So, the realistic max now is what, around 36 give or take?

Re: Handicap Changes on the way

Good post Fish, I had no idea this was in the works. I'm an outsider as it is, now I feel even more outside. I said this before, I think it's just time for clubs to splinter off and manage their own handicaps. The establishment is making lots of changes but I don't think the overall situation is imp...

Re: 2018 Winter Season Support Group

Welcome to hell. 67/72° for the next couple of days. Beyond that is a bunch more unseasonable warm days. Friday will be a winter golf-tastic high of 43°, but also likelihood of rain. And I just read that early March is going to bring some cold air down from the Arctic or whatever. Really not sure ri...

Great to see the Original BK round these parts! While it would be great to see him more often, I am content with his inactivity--so long as he is not out there gayin' it up on some other golf-oriented site.

I know a lot of people don't like him, but Bubba is absolutely amazing with that driver. The way he hits it high and long, low and running, big curves is truly a unique talent. The announcers said he doesn't like to hit irons or FW off the tee and then he proceeded to bunt his driver safely down th...

Whoa! Long drive. I fantasize about long drives. Myrtle Beach to NYC in one day is my longest. It was a challenge and the last couple hours dragged. Curious, what sort of rig you drove down there and did you take I-95 most of the way?

Don't be a one-upper. The temp never got above 36 all day. Big difference between that and a bit of morning frost. Not having some southerner tell me about cold. :fuckall
