Re: The Tiger Thread

Before this year me and golf-on-tv were on the rocks. Today, I am seeing golf-on-tv in a whole new light. I actually find myself looking forward to the so-called "major championships" of 2019 and (gulp) beyond. :facepalm

Re: The Tiger Thread

Who knew the Tour Championship would end up producing the single most intriguing, most anticipated round of the entire of 2018 season. There is so much at stake. So much pressure and expectation, more than any golfer in history has ever felt. Yeah okay Bobby Jones maybe bore the expectations of the ...

I am afraid to go full tard. I said full speed ahead but now I am fearing a letdown of epic proportions. I am afraid. Fuck you. I am not watching by the way. I am suffering through five hour golf round.

Re: The Tiger Thread

Based on what I saw yesterday I think Tiger Woods is in the zone. Not just the round but post-round, he was shown grinding on the practice green. And when he speaks, sounds very cheerful and confident. Anything higher than a 67 today will be a disappointment :onfire

Re: ... about to put ______ in the video player

Just watched a delightful period movie called Florence Foster Jenkins starring the delightful Meryl Streep in a true story based on some heiress lady from circa WWII, who loved music and dedicated much of her life to advancing the musical arts but unfortunately kind of sucked at music, and didn't kn...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

So Ms Beef got me a 54.08 M-grind SM7 in tour chrome for my birthday. Yay. This will be my first new golf club in about 8 years. That's right, when it comes to golf equipment, I am a homeless drifter basically, owning barely enough gear with which to complete 18 holes of golf. Anyways I will now ret...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Thanks to GB and Doug for the advice. I did the questionnaire but didn't really have solid answers. Every question I pretty much threw my hands up, like "Dude, I hit balls off mostly off mats, play actual golf about once a month and when I do I suck and am very inconsistent--the fuck do I know about...

Re: The Tiger Thread

Like Michelle Wie, Tiger has a lot to be proud of himself for lately. I just read that the same good play which got Tiger into the Tour Championship has also qualified him for next year's US Open. Which means no groveling for a very special exemption, nor slogging it out in qualifying--both of which...

Is Tiger turning into Steve Stricker type of player? Nice guy, fan favorite, solid game but struggles to close the deal.

Re: The Tiger Thread

Forget about winning, Tiger is now hovering around the Tour Championship cutoff line. Important from a Tiger tard perspective because the TC represents one more opportunity to win in 2018, a small field and an event he was won multiple times and dominated.

Chez needs a miracle to get in btw.

Re: 2018 summer support group

Heat advisory over but we are still at 80+ humidity. That means more dripping sweat despite low 70s temps. This is why no great human achievements ever come from near the tropics. When it's hot all the time you can't hardly accomplish anything worthwhile.
