Re: Just Keep Swimming

I have noticed in the past that distance is among your chief concerns. So I suspect that if you really want to rectify the overswing, you will have to address the cognitive impulses, both conscious and subconscious.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Weird round for Fathers Day. I played at Seven Hills Country Club in Hartville, OH. It's a par 72, 130 slope and 72.1 rating. Front 9 was absolutely dreadful 1 triple and the rest doubles for a 53. The back 9 something changed and I was on fire! :banana Ended up with a 3 over 39. My best 9 hole sco...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

I find this Dustin Johnson meltdown interesting--he is not playing all that badly. Just can't get it in the hole.

Re: Backstopping/Collusion controversy in pro golf

So when I play in tournaments my decision is based on how quickly the other player tends to play their shots. If I can get the ball and mark it w/o interrupting their routine or getting in their way then I do so. If I know they are quick I stay out of their way unless I know it won't bother them. S...

Re: Short Putts

I hate missing short putts. I am sure I am not alone in that contempt. Obviously not. The way I see it, the hatred for the missed putt is merely the flip side, the yin to the yang, of your deep abiding love for golf in general. Cannot have one without the other. In other words if the missed putt di...

Re: Backstopping/Collusion controversy in pro golf

Your silence on this matter screams complicity, to me at least. That's fine with me though. Outside of Tiger Woods making some noise at the odd tournament here or there, I am done with this make-believe crap.

Backstopping/Collusion controversy in pro golf

Backstopping (i.e. intentionally leaving balls near the hole when they are in a position to potentially assist a fellow competitors shot) seems to have come under increasing scrutiny lately, mainly by television commentators. Now PGA Tour player Jimmy Walker, in a Twitter argument with a former pro ...

Re: The Tiger Thread

That's right Doug. Just say no. To Phil. Is what I say. That guy paid almost a million bucks back to the feds. No standup person that I know has ever had to do such a thing. And I am willing to bet that was the result of them being lenient with him. Pickleson.

Re: The Tiger Thread

I am looking forward to this week's "U.S. Open" (of golf). I was going to make a thread about it but let's face it, I am really just hyped for Tiger Woods. Ok so based on current form he will probably have an indifferent round 1 followed by a sharp round 2 followed by a half-good, half-bad weekend p...

Rick and Morty

Deserves its own thread, because it is my favorite new show in years. For the un-nerdy, it is an animated series on Adult Swim, about an alcoholic intergalactic mad scientist and his pubescent grandson/sidekick who is a huge pussy. It is a wonderful mix of sci-fi and ordinary family type humor. http...

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

Stacy Lewis is currently on the leaderboard, and you can even see little Stacy Jr. starting to poke out of her belly. So weird that one can still compete in sports in such a condition. But mad props. :thumbs
