Re: Poison Ivy - What would you do?

I've never been in it either so I don't know what I'd do. Probably unplayable. If your ball is in poison ivy you probably missed your target by a lot, so karmically this is the proper thing to do.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

At least when people hold you up on the course, they are working towards something significant. That don't happen around here, like ever. :fkno

The down side to Habana is it's "fancy". Every good Cuban place in Tampa is a hole in the wall that is dirt cheap.
Try Versailles if ever in LA area, think you'd like it. Big, old-fashioned portions. There is a different Versailles in Miami, not as good IMO.

Re: I am done with Bethpage Black

I played with a fitness trainer who was pretty ripped. Midway through the round I asked how he was holding up and he while he qualified it by listing all the workouts he'd done in the past 24 hours, he did cop to being tired. He says he sometimes hires a caddy here, and its good for a four shot impr...

Re: I am done with Bethpage Black

Thanks Doug. Yes I am now taking questions by the way. About the LI people, my point was that even those who aren't that bad, are still bad somehow. You are right about the accents. They are extremely hard to take. Long Island is actually one of the most insular places I can think of. Not just cultu...

I am done with Bethpage Black

Yesterday was sort of a significant moment for me as a shitty golfer. Over the course of the round, and the trip back home, I realized some stuff about myself. That I care far less about golf than I thought, and that it doesn't take a whole lot to make me happy as a golfer. 1. The rough is too much ...

To think, I will be playing golf today at the site of Tiger's 15th or 16th major championship victory. Humbling.

Tee time moved up to 1:24.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

I watched, and enjoyed it too even though the result was N.I.D. (never in doubt, that's tennis-fan lingo). I followed Sei Young Kim in person for two rounds at the 2015 KPMGWPGAC, been a fan ever since. She hits it good for a chick. Her swing used to look kind of sloppy but not yesterday. She was po...

Re: Shohei Ohtani

Cooled off a bit, but tonight the Angels are on ESPN. Ohtani didn't start but I tuned in in time to see him pinch hit and blast a huge home run to center. Great swing. But his arm is already blown out. I suspect he will end up as a position player or DH.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

You might find some less corporatized fare in Laguna or Newport. Might but is it really worth the trouble. Is my question. Still in Orange County after all. There might be a few pockets of individuality here and there but by and large there are no secrets to uncover. When in Rome do as the Romans d...

Re: 2018 summer support group

Hang in there kitty. I too am having a tough time. Not so much with my golf technique (not like you :devil) but just dealing with the climate in general. Hit balls yesterday and after three crummy little swings began to drip sweat. Standing in a puddle of my own secretions by the end, t-shirt satura...

Re: The World Famous Sir Nicholas Alexander Faldo Early Wrist-set Drill

For now I have moved on from an early-set feel. Doesn't diminish my appreciation for it, or this drill at all. I was a wayward soul, and it set me on the straight and narrow. I will still shout about it from the rooftop. Recently I am having more of a gradual set feel--takeaway feels more one-piece....

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I was being dishonest with the fun part of "food and fun". I don't know where to find fun in Irvine. You are staying at the Spectrum, which is where all the action is, you should have all you need there. There is a place inside there I genuinely enjoy, it's called Saigon Pearl. Not sure about the sa...

Heading out to fake city (Irvine) for a week for work.
Staying where? I can give you some recommends for food and fun.

Roger Federer has left Nike and now wears Uniqlo. Holy fuckin shit. That is kind of like Tiger showing up at the Masters wearing Old Navy. You know who else wears Uniqlo? The beefster.
