Re: Interesting TV/Streaming
I don't watch but I always laugh at the commercials for those old British murder mystery "programmes". I laugh at the ridiculous causes of death they come up with, and also am fairly mortified at the nonchalance with which these people seem to view such horrible, twisted, senseless acts in general. ...

Re: LPGA Winners - 4/1/2017 to 4/11/2018
The two 3-time winners were Ms. Feng and Ms. Kim (I-K). Surprising to me was Christie Kerr won twice during that time period. Tied with her were Jutanugarn, Park (Inbee) and Thompson, if I recall correctly, which is always a problem. Which brings me to Yani Tseng. Can a great golfer disappear faste...

Re: 2018 LPGA thread
It is rather disturbing how quickly and decisively the media has scrubbed Paula from the records. Yes it is true she has been sucking for a while but so have a lot of other players and yet they don't get the blackball for it. She must have done something to piss people off. Otherwise there is no rea...

Not trying to be a drama queen, but it really does feel like spring--you know, the season--has been canceled.

Re: Movies / The Cinema
"Downsizing" starring Matt Damon. I enjoyed it. Kind of a ludicrous premise but a nice little sci-fi story. Funny too.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread
NEW EVENT ALERT!!! The inaugural LPGA LA Open is already upon us. Anticipation is pretty high, let me tell you. This course is very near to LA's massive K-town, so expect a wild ruckus atmosphere. This has the makings of the biggest turnout for the LPGA, in the mainland US at least. TV Times (ET) Th...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread
Big change is a coming in men's pro golf. Did you guys realize that this is the last year of "Glory's Last Shot"? That's right Jack. Starting next year it will become the 2nd major on the calendar, played in May. The Players Championship will be moved back to March. Which lines it up with the Florid...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread
It's true, you do have to get away from it all. In the week after one of these life-and-death matters men's major championships I like to retreat to the cutie patootie low stakes world of LPGA.

Did you guys hear about the RBC Heritage tournament over the weekend? Of course you didn't! That's because an unknown Japanese and a barely-known Korean played off for the title.

Re: February Golf.
Yesterday was almost 80 degrees, today is 40, blustery cold and threatening a little rain. I thought about getting out there, but then decided against it. Now, I'm still kind of considering it. Even though I'm not. You never know though. We'll see. Play it by ear. Day is still young.

Re: How far do you really hit the ball.
Just a random thought but tangentially related. I think tech has spoiled golf. Ball and club tech. So you make everything go farther, and then ruling bodies respond by lengthening courses to balance it all out. So nothing really changes except the numbers. In economics that's called inflation. Baseb...

Re: Need advice for bag/cart sound issue
There is no way I am giving any credence to any numbers or data that are presented without even a single reassurance about the integrity of the methods used to collect said data. You people are nuts. Science is a powerful tool but that's not what this is. This is spurious content hiding behind the a...

Re: Need advice for bag/cart sound issue
There is a retired guy I see at the driving range every morning when it's warm. He carries and is probably 60-65 years old. He said one time he plays 4-5 days a week in the summer and occasionally will play 36 in a day. He doesn't use a cart ever. I had tremendous respect for him, and a little disa...

This LPGA shit is a literal snoozefest, so far at least. I am an LPGA fan but man, LPGA in windy conditions, I don't know man. Kind of sucks.

Re: Need advice for bag/cart sound issue
Walking and carrying to me is kind of like running--when I see people out there doing either those things, while I am not, it always looks fun and appealing. From the outside, running looks so liberating and empowering, and walking and carrying a golf bag looks so adventuresome and pure and romantic...

I pounded one yesterday, so I measured it. It was like 238, all carry.
That is why I don't like to measure.

Re: Need advice for bag/cart sound issue
You lower back sufferers are probably carrying too much shit in your bags. Why?
Anytime I pick up someone else's bag I am flabbergasted by the weight. Mine's like 20 lbs, and that is with a pair of shoes in there.

Re: Need advice for bag/cart sound issue
My bag has two compartments. Sad! Actually I love it. I think it's discontinued too, so once it dies I will be shit out of luck and forced to use some bloated, bulgy abomination with at least five compartments. To silence the club chatter I just reach back and use my hand to muffle shit. It never bo...

Re: February Golf.
Got brutalized out there. 23 over par. Greens were freshly aerated and sanded, and every single pin up against an edge of the green. The turf is lumpy and bare around the greens, and a little bit soggy. Just a total nightmare to deal with ESPECIALLY given those pin locations :facepalm To top it all ...
