Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

Overnight, the battle against humidity ended and the battle against dryness has begun. I went to play yesterday and my right index finger split open a tiny bit. :bawl (Temps were in the 40s and the course was still crowded btw.) The gusty winds have arrived for the season. At home, humidifiers are r...

Johnny Miller retirement

I for one am bummed. I don't think he was all that spectacular at calling the shots, but I am accustomed to his presence. As a Tiger Tard I have strong associations with Johnny's voice and big moments in tournament golf. He was there for many of Tiger's exploits going way back to the US Am when Tige...

Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

Real actual cool weather has arrived finally. Just as I been lamenting, we are moving straight from swamp-ass to winter-like chill. No fall this year I guess. We didn't have spring either. Bring it on. This winter I attempt to set a new benchmark for cold weather golfability.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

I ordered a new television set yesterday, following a couple days of intense deliberation. It was only ever a question of LG or Samsung. I leaned towards Samsung mostly, same brand I been using for the past seven years. Then I went to Bestbuy and had a look at both screens, they both looked similarl...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

If these new rules are so insignificant as you all seem to be arguing, then you should have no problem letting your next match opponent play by the new rules while you play by the old. Right? It's plain old logic you see. Transitive property and shit. Oh, so you would have a problem with this scenar...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I am definitely going invoke the 40-second recommendation. Now I can be a dick and the USGA backs it up. "Um, excuse me Bob. I notice you've been taking way longer than 40 seconds to hit your shots. Here, I have the USGA rules book here in my bag, let's open it up and read what it has to say about t...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

I am not opposed to change in and of itself. But these new changes will instantaneously make everyone a better golfer, and that's just silly. It's as if millennialism is beginning to infect all generations now. Don't even attempt to refute what I am saying. You are asleep, of course you cannot see w...

Re: The New 2019 Rules

Dropping from knee height is bullshit! Takes so much of the randomness out of the result. The randomness was the point, motherfucker! I always appreciate the shoulder drop. It's like, you get to choose the general area for your drop, but you don't get to choose the lie. I liked that. Knee height is ...

This is one big ass bucket. 260 count. Need two hands to lift a laundry basket worth of balls. Biggest I've ever seen at any range. I split this one with Ms Beef but I want my own next time. I can handle it.

Re: Random thoughts

Part of my own personal Facebook problem is that I never learned how to converse or to comment on that thing. I am always at a loss for words. I have little to no reaction to people's insignificant little life events perhaps. "That looks like fun!" "Amazing!" -- that's something a normal person migh...

Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

The disappearance of a whole season is a more cataclysmic event than some hurricane I would argue. Try to think of the big picture for once. That is a metaphor by the way. There is no actual big picture. Tomorrow is forecast to be around 80 degrees, and then temps are supposed to cool. Here is a pre...

Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

Fuck this shit. This is shaping up to be the worst fall season ever, for golf at least. It has been muggy every day. The forecast might read 60-something but it's deceptive, you could walk around nude and still work up a sweat. In the past I used to get a sort of spiritual boost, an inspiration, fro...

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

Weather is putting a damper on the whole thing from start to finish I think. Course and weather conditions contributed to some uninspired play all around. Commentators criticized the tournament for tucking the pins, making the course play unduly hard. They are probably right. The only real highlight...

Re: Just Keep Swimming

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that none of the Golf Digest Top 100 Teachers in America would sign off on that practice. But who knows. There's probably some benefit to it. I think if you want to hit it long ultimately you have to get acquainted with a very fast moving clubhead.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

Word on the street is that this is shaping up to be the biggest golf event in the history of South Korea, and that is saying something since they have previously hosted LPGA, PGA Tour, and Presidents Cups events. For that alone I am curious to check out the scene. All you Ryder Cup zealots ought to ...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

This was probably the worst Ryder Cup ever. So much hurt feelings and conflict. To top it all off, a European spectator has now lost an eye thanks to an errant Brooks Koepka tee shot. I am not even kidding around here. The world would be a slightly better place right now, if this last Ryder Cup had ...

Primetime LPGA is back motherfuckers and it's back early, and it's coming to your TV in a big fuckin way, with whopping coverage, 25 hours in total. The UL International Crown is that four-woman team comp pitting the top eight women's golfing nations in the world against each other. (UL as you proba...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

If anyone came here to whine about the US losing in the cup match, listen to me. SUCK IT UP I am begging you. All sporting results are insignificant, and the Ryder Cup is way down on the list of what's important in sports. Losing in the Ryder Cup sucks in kind of the same way it sucks to lose a matc...
