Re: Just Keep Swimming

Had never watched this guy in slo-mo. Super short. Shorter than I thought. Probably as short a backswing as humanly possible.

Re: ... currently listening to:

Getting deeper into the McCartney back catalog. Now realizing that "RAM" is probably the best post-Beatles solo album. All Things Must Pass is wonderful and everything but it is ponderous and bloated, both content and production. Imagine is spotty and short on memorable tunes. Plastic Ono is better ...

Re: Rick and Morty

Love this show so much. It is a rich tapestry that weaves together sci-fi, philosophy, cynicism, nihilism, darkness, and ordinary humor.

Re: 2018 summer support group

Sweat been pissin me off too. I run hot and get damp very easily. Strictly physically speaking it feels kind of good to work up a big sweat but Jesus Christ, it's very inconvenient. Also more sweat means more showering and more changing clothes which means more doing laundry, blech.

Re: 2018 summer support group

Triple digits with humidity today. Next few months are going to suck. Going to break down soon and visit the simulator. There's a new one in the neighborhood.

Re: Just Keep Swimming

Maybe force yourself to watch the swings of some real long distance/short swingers, like Tony Finau, JB Holmes. Clockwork Orange style. Also start playing at a retirement community. Shit like that.

Re: Just Keep Swimming

I have noticed in the past that distance is among your chief concerns. So I suspect that if you really want to rectify the overswing, you will have to address the cognitive impulses, both conscious and subconscious.

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Weird round for Fathers Day. I played at Seven Hills Country Club in Hartville, OH. It's a par 72, 130 slope and 72.1 rating. Front 9 was absolutely dreadful 1 triple and the rest doubles for a 53. The back 9 something changed and I was on fire! :banana Ended up with a 3 over 39. My best 9 hole sco...

I find this Dustin Johnson meltdown interesting--he is not playing all that badly. Just can't get it in the hole.

Re: Backstopping/Collusion controversy in pro golf

So when I play in tournaments my decision is based on how quickly the other player tends to play their shots. If I can get the ball and mark it w/o interrupting their routine or getting in their way then I do so. If I know they are quick I stay out of their way unless I know it won't bother them. S...

Re: Short Putts

I hate missing short putts. I am sure I am not alone in that contempt. Obviously not. The way I see it, the hatred for the missed putt is merely the flip side, the yin to the yang, of your deep abiding love for golf in general. Cannot have one without the other. In other words if the missed putt di...

Your silence on this matter screams complicity, to me at least. That's fine with me though. Outside of Tiger Woods making some noise at the odd tournament here or there, I am done with this make-believe crap.

Backstopping/Collusion controversy in pro golf

Backstopping (i.e. intentionally leaving balls near the hole when they are in a position to potentially assist a fellow competitors shot) seems to have come under increasing scrutiny lately, mainly by television commentators. Now PGA Tour player Jimmy Walker, in a Twitter argument with a former pro ...
