Re: WTF did you shoot today?

I have been playing and scoring poorly for months. The who thing has become a bit of a downer.... ....We are in Mid-June and have yet to touch 80 degrees. It rains at least every other day, hard. The entire Mitten is one large sodden heap of mud. The soft, wet fairways are bounded by extremely heal...

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I forgot to post this while I was in Orlando (maybe just a little bit of alcohol involved,) but I purchased Ping g400 5 wood. I figure I can interchange it in my bag with my 3 hybrid depending on the course I am playing. It has to be one of the easiest fairway woods to hit off the deck, ever. Nice ...

Polos for me most days around the house and when out and about running errands, but always on the golf course. Always.
Not golfing=typically, cotton pique type.
While golfing=Golf specific tech polos. FJ, Carnoustie, Ashworth, Cutter Buck, etc.

Re: 2019 US Open @ Pebble Beach

I'm pickin' 5-time Masters Champion Tiger, Ricky and Koepka. 5-time Masters Champion Tiger because I WANT him to win. Ricky because he's always in the mix and is due to break through. And Koepka because, well, he's Koepka. Who's better?

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

So, to continue the long story: I opened up the face of my 58* wedge and figuratively, crossed my fingers. Heard the thump of the bounce hit the sand clay and watched the ball fly up and slice hard right due to the clump of sand it was carrying. I couldn't see where it landed, but thought it might h...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

This isn't necessarily my best shot of the month, but worth mention just the same. I will put it in my memory bank for the next time I'm in trouble. Actually, it was more than one shot. Instead, it was more of a recovery situation than a single shot. Par 5, about 500 yards. Had a poor tee shot into ...

It was fun to watch. He looked great for 13 holes or so. And not terrible by any means on the last 5. If he could bring that game to the US Open, watch out.

Re: Post your pics of the courses you play

Three questions Matt:

1. That ball on the par 3 12th that you hit with a 4 iron looks a lot closer than 7 feet. Did you mean 4 feet with a 7 iron?
2. What, no hills, valleys, moguls, uneven lies? :nope
3. Is that windmill part of the first green? :rofl

No, it is different when it's your community, but not any more appalling. I, too, am sickened by all the massacres everywhere in our country. But when it's close to home, you DO feel it more. It's more REAL, because you are living right there. I get your point though. It's going to linger for a long...

Re: ... about to put ______ in the video player

Yes, last year. Somewhat realistic at times. At first I thought you were referring to the book by the same name, written by Stephen Callahan, who survived 76 days alone at sea in a life raft. When I first saw the movie "Adrift" advertised I thought is was his story. But, it is a different story. Cal...

Re: Spring 2019 Golf

Rough stuff "rolled" in as I just finished a putt for bird on the 11th today. Kind of cool sky. The clouds really rolled. There were tornados, but we only got intense wind and rain. My internal sailing antenna estimates about 60 knots or more (about 70 mph). Click on video below after it runs throug...

That's just Haney. He opens his mouth and shit falls out, much like Trump. They both think they know more than anyone and both LOVE to be controversial. I listen to Haney's Sirius Radio show sometimes when it happens to come on after something else I was listening to, and frankly, I usually have to ...

Re: Weighted club

Jason, I agree with you. On both points. The Orange Titleist Red Whip :quotez is excellent for swing tempo and the only reason I use it. I certainly don't expect to gain swing speed and did not start using it for that 4 or 5 years ago. Secondly, I too have been researching the SSG system and have re...

Re: Weighted club

Orange Whip. Last I heard, there was one in a large percentage of Tour players' bags. There is one in mine too. Everyday, before I swing a club I find my tempo with my Orange Whip. (However mine is painted Titleist red! Orange clashed in my bag. ;) )

Such a great place to call home.

One day last week. No crowds. It was like playing in winter, only with perfect conditions. A glorious late afternoon.

Re: WTF did you buy today?

I'm pissed. The retailer contacted me AFTER the club (Titleist 818H2 21* hybrid) was supposedly "on the way" and told me that he doesn't have that club to sell me anymore and had refunded my account. Evidently, he oversold it. He had a bunch of them listed on Ebay and sold more than he actually had....

Lately, I'm playing nearly everyday. Some days I post my score---when I play a true 18 with others---and some days I just go play solo and only post to the Grint so I can keep track of stats. I'm playing 4-5 18-hole rounds a week right now. I only post scores for my official handicap, when my play m...
