Yup! All my B players are out, and one C player. So, for the rest of the way I have only one decision to make: Rory or Sergio? Gaaaawwwwd!

Re: Do non-golf personal issues affect your game

I voted "my life is perfect", cuz I don't remember. I am playing one shot at a time, and what happened before or after doesn't matter. Now, if say my wife was in an accident or sent to the hospital just before I would have started a round, I just wouldn't start it. Little things dont' matter.

Nah! Guilty of what? Enjoying the fresh air and a gentle walk? How could I feel guilty?

The latest entry in the "Introduce Yourself" forum was some dude from Kenya complaining that SkyGolf had only mapped one course in Kenya and the SkyCaddy watch did not work. WTF? Kenya?!? Like there are going to be a lot of sales in that place. Well, there should have been at least one, from the go...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Hey, nice work on the 75, SJ That's some pretty good stuff. Gotta be playing some pretty flawless golf to hit that target. Thanks and to Matt as well. Not flawless, but solid. I managed to have 6 bogeys (offset by 3 birdies of course), but on all of them, the bogey was pretty much guaranteed (i.e n...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Had a personal best yesterday: 75 at San Jose Muni, CA (par 72). It was 2 shots better than my previous best. I hit 11 greens (also a PB), 10 fairways and made 3 birdies (tie for PB), with 31 putts overall, including a 0-putt from the fringe, and a 3-putt that converted a decent birdie chance, 5 fee...

Re: The Forward Press

I'm doing it with the putter (it helps getting the ball to roll sooner). but not with full swings. Maybe I should give it a try on those too: I have a tendency to cock my wrists very early and this could possibly work to reduce that flaw, which robs me of distance (not wide enough of an arc on the b...

Re: THE 2015 MASTERS TOURNAMENT thread

Awful sweet of Jordan to miss the par putt on 18, so that he and Tiger can share the record. Breaking records is nice but sharing is even better. That's just the kind of kid Jordan is. Yeah that sucked. True, but Jordan still holds the record for reaching the lowest (to -19). All the records ...

THIS WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE MASTERS. Still trying to catch my breath. This feels like the dawn of a new Era!!! Can't believe the Skanks came in 2nd!!! Best finish ever!!! Could've run away with it too--I almost picked Rose on a hunch, until I saw that he had no form coming in. Z. Johnson was an inspi...

True, but I'll have to be offline again (or nearly so) for another 2 or 3 weeks coming up around mid-May... I don't suppose we can have 4 mulligans per segment, can we?

My work brought in a bunch of sandwiches from Jason's Deli today (busy day no one gets to leave for lunch lol). I asked where the pimento cheese sandwich was. The lady who ordered them looked at me like I was stupid (she's probably right).

Re: WTF did you shoot today? (provisional title)

it is the differential, i just leave it as calculated to two decimals because it does not get rounded in what i use in excel. And i figured differential is a good way of seeing how a round went. Thanks! Yes, using the differential is a good way to quantify the value of a round, as it includes the c...

Re: WTF did you shoot today? (provisional title)

I've meant yo ask you for a while, srogers13, what is the last number that you are showing (18.92 in the last instance) in your entries? The differential? If it is, I think it is supposed to be rounded up/down to the nearest 10th of a point (as 18.9 in the last instance), whereas once you compute th...

Re: The Get A Grip Thread

I am a big fan of the Lamkin crossline grip. I need to redo all my clubs soon (I still have the original Mizuno grips I received with the new irons 2 years ago, on some of those irons). I've heard good things about the compressed air method, but it won't help me as I don't have a station to redo my ...

That's a real bad break. I hope your dog gets it that she should stay still for a while, until the first legs heals properly so that she can get the second surgery. Do you carry her out, or can she walk just a little, supported by a sling (like mine was when she had her CCL surgery), to go do her bu...

Re: Frequently Changing Putting Styles

My style has slowly evolved over the year (low and slow, lean to the left a bit, ball forward in the stance, smooth through and through, using a conventional single overlap grip). But late last year I felt I was lipping out way too many putts and that was confirmed when a good buddy of mine who play...

Agreed with the last comment above: it wasn't until I got my HI around 12 that I was interested and actively trying to curve the ball one way or the other. It just did (to the fade side) and I played along with what I had. I have since taken a series a lessons and my default swing now produces a dra...
