Re: Dealing with Slow Play

Find a hot chick on the course and use your range finder to see how far she is? But seriously I can only deal with it well when there is no one behind me. In these cases I will chip and putt on the prior green or on the tee box while waiting. I also spend time reading my putts from both sides. I try...

Re: F'ing driver

Fuck Monday. I have no clue what happened. But I also wasn't hitting my 7i or wedge that well this morning, so I'm just going to say it was a bad day for my golf swing and not try to change anything based on it. I hit 3 of 10 but the other 7 were an ugly mix of block slices that were 70 yards right ...

Re: Driver, Shortening Shaft, Swing Weight

Sergio plays 44" driver I think. The reason amateurs play longer drivers is 2 fold. 1) People in general are dumb and only focused on hitting the ball farther. 2) We have slower swing speeds so our mishits aren't going to wind up as far off line. So we have more room for error. Probably 80% #1 and 2...

Re: Driver, Shortening Shaft, Swing Weight

Ping G15 45.5" D3 What is your swing speed, and what is the torque on the shaft? What is the trajectory of your ball flight and what do you want it to be? Cutting it off the butt end should have the least effect to torque and trajectory. Cutting it off the club head (I'm not sure if this is possible...

Re: F'ing driver

Bryan, I couldn't agree more. My driver is my #1 scoring club, and I believe that is the case for everyone. I'm a firm believer that the old concept of putting being the most important part of your score is outdated and just plain wrong. I'm a big Mark Brodie fan, although a little jealous of him ma...

Re: F'ing driver

So morning 1 is going to make it sound like this should be easy for me. I hit my driver better than I have this year. I hit 4 of 10 into the "fairway". I widened my stance slightly which helped me to gain some consistency. I'll see if that continues to work tomorrow. One more thing I'm changing to m...

Re: Your Best Start Ever

I started -2 through 3 in a tournament. Shot 80 with 40 putts :wtf: to win my flight by 4. At that time 80 tied my lowest round ever (actually I'd never broken 40 on any 9 and shot 40-40 that day). It was the best ball striking day I've ever had. I've been -2 through 3 a couple times since then but ...

F'ing driver

In light of JFurr's and Beef's quest to go low on some nemesis courses. I'm setting a goal for myself, although slightly different. So my biggest problem right now is putting the driver in play. On the rare rounds that I can do that shooting 70's to low 80's seems like cake walk. The problem is I ca...

Re: New Sticks Advice

It'd be nice to get something new & shiny in the bag. I would like to move from the "super game improvement" line to a "game improvement" line... which is what going from Machspeed to Covert 2.0 forged would be as far as what I've read & watched. Stiff may = no-go... maybe. The good thing about dri...

Re: New Sticks Advice

I would only get them if you are wanting to put new shafts in them.

I am of the opinion that getting the proper shaft is almost as important as getting the proper club head. Even more so for drivers where I feel shaft might be more important than club head.

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

I have 2 good ones from May. Not sure which is better. The 2nd was a called chip in on my last round. On the 15th hole the guy I was playing with decided to comment on how well I was playing the back 9. So I was standing over a birdie chip and he asked how I was doing on the back side. I said when ...

Re: Describe Your Best Shot of the Month

I have 2 good ones from May. Not sure which is better. The first was a 490 yard par 5. I hit a good drive but it left me behind a tree which blocked the left 2/3 of the green and there is a bunker on the right side of the green. I had 209 to a front left pin. I was in the rough and figured the ball ...

Pretty much my unstated question every time I hit a shot that does exactly what I was trying to do.
I've had too many times where I said "shit that went right where I aimed it" on the golf course.

Instead of WTF did you shoot today. Make a thread title of WTF how did I do that?

I'm more curious who doesn't pick up perfectly fine tees?

Also I will never use a new tee when I'm hitting a non-driver unless I can't find a broken tee on the box.

Re: Chipping style?

So I played on Saturday and only chipped with hybrid 1 time. All the other times were a wedge. I averaged 1.375 putts after chips with the wedge including one chip in. I did have one 2 chip 1 putt hole, which is skewing the PAC stat. But it was because I was trying a massive flop shot and came up 4'...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

47 - 38 for an 85 on my first ever Pete dye course. I didn't have my game golf charged. I hit 8 greens, had 4 birdie putts inside 10' and made 1 of them and chipped in for birdie. Surprisingly well given about half the tee shots had blind landing areas and I had no clue where to hit the ball. Hit wh...

Can't abide by the hybrid or fairway wood chip. Just can't get used to the ball popping off the trampoline face. Oh it takes some getting use to. But when I started hitting everything to inside 3' it really opened my eyes. I decided to try it because a friend of mine who I played with a lot in Nash...

Chipping style?

I have about 30 minutes between when I have to drop my kid off at daycare and when I have to leave for work. There happens to be a nice golf course between his daycare and work. So for the last 2 weeks I've been spending that 30 minutes putting and chipping. I have messed around with many many diffe...

I am not sure if they can be exported.

But the GPS isn't amazing so for your situation I would use game golf (or some other device that tracks shots) and just write down 1st putt distance on each hole. It sounds like that would cover what you and your coach need.

Re: How do you respond to this shitty situation?

My biggest issue was his kid seeing this. Not to mention there were 2 other pre-teen kids on the range that weren't with either party. It really made me want to punch this guy right in the face. I was thinking about my son. Would I like him to be great at golf? Would I like him to win the masters? H...

Re: Game Golf & Golf Pad

Oh and for full disclosure I bought Golfsmith7's old gamegolf device that he sold on OOB. So the low volume of the beep, and the not holding a charge when turned off might be different in newer models.

Also I only paid $135 or $145 I dont remember. And yes I would buy it again for that price.
