Re: Old Ass Clubs

So I think this is the "newest" old club I've ever had. My oldest club is either my driver Ping G15 or my 4h which is a Titleist 912 I think. I'm not sure which one is older. Prior to this I had a SW that I loved when I was in my 20's it was a 198x Wilson something or other. I loved that club but I ...

Re: One Week In April: 2019 Masters Tournament Thread

I’m with you beef. I feel it. El Tigré for the win. Wouldn’t that be something. I may try to squeeze in some golf but as Doug says, it all depends on how things develop. I don't know his putting has looked iffy at best, but the good news is he can probably read those breaks in his sleep. In Austin ...

Re: Best feeling in golf?

Regardless, there is something about hitting an iron pure. I had one near the end of my 3rd round of golf that started me down the road to obsession. Yesterday played some miserable golf and missed too many greens with short clubs, but two of the misses were pure strikes and went surprisingly far b...

I'm going to be down in FL for the masters. I'll be visiting w/ my family before heading to my wife and son's Augusta Nationa (aka Disney World) on Monday.

Re: The Grumble Thread

Yeah my elbow wasn't in"pain" per say. By no means was it unbearable, but it's more annoying and worrisome that I'd make it worse.

I'll buy the band and see if that helps.

Same old story. Trump fucks up, and yet the person who reports it is the bad guy.
Why can't they both be bad guys?

Re: The Grumble Thread

I know Doug has talked about tendinitis in his elbow. I too am suffering from the same thing. I took down my "hitting bay" in my house about 6 weeks ago and told myself to not use it until my elbow was fine. Also before I hit indoors I'd hit some balls outside first to make sure there is no pain. I...

Re: Putting confessions

So after a quick debate with Doug I really started thinking about putting. Here are some thoughts from years of being trash at putting and improving it to passable. Putting is the most personal aspect of the game. I feel like this post should really end there, but I'll elaborate because why the hell...

Re: Rick Riley's 85%

Surprised you didn't go direct to the source, the so-called National Golf Foundation. I'm sure their fees are quite affordable. I did go there to look for it. I searched their site for that stat. The search returned 3 different reports, but they need to be downloaded. I don't download stuff on my w...

Rick Reilly's 85%

So I did some digging on google to see if I could find anywhere that validated this comment. So far I've come up empty, that being said I did find this article pretty enjoyable. It is by no means a "scientific study" and shouldn't really be treated as such, but I did find it enjoyable and realized h...

Re: Golf.com: How and Why Trump Cheats at Golf

That's not Reilly's thought, it's a quote from some guy at Winged Foot who has played with Trump, and the quote is him speculating on Trump's own personal rationale for cheating. So I'm by no means a journalism/english major so I could be wrong on this and I'll defer to you if you tell me I'm wrong...

Re: Golf.com: How and Why Trump Cheats at Golf

Ok this is a great example of my issue with journalists. I have no argument for the context of the article as I've never played with him. Also this matches everything I've ever heard. Cool he is a big cheater, we all get it (ok some people will defend him). But what the hell is going through Rick Ri...

Re: I still cannot chip

Certainly, some good players look at the hole when putting, like you and sometimes Jordan Spieth. But, more don't. Arguably, the best putter to ever play the game (El Tigré) does not look at the hole, nor did he ever look at the hole when putting. So, you can argue it out with him if you'd like. Th...

6. Just like with putting, keep your eyes on the ball until after it has been struck. No peeking. Umm Id argue that most people will putt better looking at the hole. :gross You might argue that, but I'm not sure you'd win. Feel free to site studies that show putting looking at the ball is better fo...

Re: I still cannot chip

The biggest change I made in my chipping is being 100% committed to the shot I want to play. I realized that most of my chipping issues were on "straight forward" shots where I had options. I wouldn't have as many issues with shots that were harder and really forced you to play only 1 type of shot (...

After t-ball I watched the last 4 holes of the 5-time Masters Champion Tiger Rory match.

Then I did a bunch of yard work and now picked up the 5-time Masters Champion Tiger ? Match with them both rolling in putts on #12. 5-time Masters Champion Tiger looks like he wants this.
