Re: Practice Golf at Home thread

This is like “The Hangover.” We’ve lost Doug and need to get him back.

Re: Stories of Golf Unhappiness (aka golf grumble)

So the biggest problem I've had in this slump is BIG dead pulls left. I mean left of Bernie. Yesterday I had a good round, a 77, but had a few soft holes dow n the stretch where I made three bogeys - none of which were particularly bad but I shouldn't have bogeyed all three and two were partly set u...

Re: Stories of Golf Happiness

So at one point today as I was struggling, I hit a 7i to the very front edge of the green. Problem was the flag was at the very back of the green, probably 85-90 feet up a slope and then down to the hole. Hit the putt really hard and it damn near went in, ending up a few inches from the hole. There ...

Re: Talk about your weather thread

July and August have been brutally hot here. Heat index 105-110 on regular basis. I've even taken to riding on the occasional round. They keep telling me September is nice here.

Re: Stories of Golf Happiness

One of those did this really happen stories. I was supposed to play business golf today but it got cancelled, which ticked me off. Do I was determined to play 9 after work. However, looking at the tee sheet I could tell that 9 was about all the traffic would allow. Do I decided to play two balls. No...

Re: Stories of Golf Unhappiness (aka golf grumble)

So during this slump my ball striking has stunk. My irons have been very inconsistent but my driver is overly inconsistent. It hasn’t been unusual to have 7-8 outstanding drives and 3-4 fubars in the same round. Lots of huge pulls left and huge slices right. It’s gotten so bad I benched my driver af...

Well I called it an asterisk but it’s more of an exclamation mark. Regardless, I’ve hit the GHIN breaks I didn’t know existed.

Stories of Golf Unhappiness (aka golf grumble)

So I've been in a terrible slump. Last June through mid-September I went on a fabulous run which ended with three of my best rounds ever in a 15 day period. My handicap reached an all-time low, although I realized that it was artificial. I promptly went into my all time biggest slump. At times it's ...
