Re: What are you getting/did you get for Christmas

Merry Christmas. I'm quarantined to the garage until I can prove the net will stop EVERYTHING.

Then it's moving up to the room over the garage which will allow me to hit driver.

Re: The significance of wrist hinge/set/cock

Fish, have you ever considered a career in golf instruction? I would fall into the "those who can do...those who can't teach" category. But I have read a TON about the golf swing, the bio mechanics around it and I have a pretty good understanding of how things work in space. So I'm able to kind of ...

Re: The significance of wrist hinge/set/cock

Are these the medical/anatomical terms for the movements of the wrist? Anyways when I refer to "hinge" I mean as it pertains to the backswing. So maybe I am not using the terms correctly, or am incorrectly synonymizing "hinge" with "cock" and "set". What I am talking about is the first phase of the...

Re: The significance of wrist hinge/set/cock

Which leads to another question. How much vertical and how much horizontal? What is the optimal blend? Now this is a real tough question. I'm not sure there is any right answer. I think that can't be answered in isolation. I mean there are plenty of great players that have a minimal wrist hinge (St...

Re: The significance of wrist hinge/set/cock

So then, this leads me to another question: is bowing the same as or similar to hinging? No Bowing/Cupping is the vertical* movement of the hands, and hinging is the horizontal* movement of the hands. *stick your hands out where your palms are facing the ground. Then rotated your fingers vertically...

Re: The significance of wrist hinge/set/cock

So I don't have any indication of "significance" of the wrist hinge. But here is my thoughts. 1) Everything physical you attempt to do in your swing should be done before the downswing. The downswing MUST just be a reaction to everything you've already done. All problems with a swing come before the...

What are you getting/did you get for Christmas

So does anyone know what they are getting this year?

My wife and I share an Amazon account so I saw what she got for me this year.

A hitting mat and net that I put on the "wish list."

My indoor driving range is starting to take form.

Re: Just Keep Swimming

Been sick the last couple of days and didn't get to head to the range much last week because of sub freezing temps. So I went to the range today expecting it to be terrible. I knew I wasn't 100% "strength" wise. After hitting 2 or 3 shots terribly by trying to over power everything while still feeli...

If it still looks garbled, refresh until it looks all clean and blue. Everything's been reset. Back to the boring old OEM look. I'll switch back to our signature green motif as soon as I can.
So how many times should we refresh?

I did it 2 or 3 times and it still looks jacked up.

Re: December Golf!!!

We did dodge the snow, we missed it by about 50 miles. It did snow a little Saturday night, but nothing stuck to the super wet ground. We were lucky that the clouds stayed overnight and temps didn't get below freezing long enough to cause issues. Just a wet course and not an icy course. Sunday when ...

Re: December Golf!!!

Played the tournament yesterday. Feels like temperature never got about 36* but I was pretty comfortable the entire day. Didn't hit my irons & wedges well, but somehow hit driver really well. I put a drive in the green side bunker of a 277 yard par 4 (had to cut it around trees). We nearly holed out...

Re: How far do you have to travel to your home course?

Counting only public courses I have the following.

7 within 15 min of my house (8 if you count the 9 hole first tee short course)
Probably around 15-20 or so with in 30 min of my house.

When you get to an hour away there are a ton (thanks Williamsburg), many of which are resort courses.

Oh man I'm going to be using all of them (that are legal) this weekend.

I have the 2nd tournament this Sunday.

AM temp is around 29*
Mid day high 42*
Winds 10-20 mph

Looks like it will be a rough day.

Re: The Tiger Thread

I'm not looking much into the chipping yet. I've seen a couple people just hit terrible chips due to the grain. I think everyone should just hold off on judging his chips until he plays next. Remember he is the only person who you are seeing every shot of. Other people have a bad chip it doesn't mak...

"Played" 4 holes this morning. Well I was a little short on time so I tried to play in 30 min. I was jogging between shots, heart was racing. Also as stated before I was trying to make my tee shots as hard as possible given where my next tournament was. Basically I was aiming down the wrong side of ...
