Re: What's in your bag?

Duke, I had already checked out the CBX, but only a quick pass. I got the impression it wasn't real forgiving and moved on. However, I have seen some more recent reviews by guys on the Hacker's Paradise who thought the EX10 was absolutely phenomenal last year, but have since agreed that the only thi...

Re: What's in your bag?

Another long post, but c'mon, it IS a forum, right? Grab a cup of coffee... Okay, now I have gone down the rabbit hole. It started with the idea that the Tour Edge Exotics EX10/Beta might be an alternative consideration to the new Titleist TS fairways just released, at half the price. Since Tour Edg...

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

I'll catch some live, before my bedtime. The rest, well, I guess I'll just have to watch the replay next day and not look at the internet for results beforehand.

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

Europe KICKED OUR ASS! Tiger and Phil 0 and 6. Ouch. (Or was it 0 and 7?) Only real bright spots on US team: Justin Thomas & Web Simpson I suppose I can take some solace in the fact that they are both Titleist Tour Staff players. As is Spieth, but he was no Justin or Web this RC. And why wasn't Spie...

If not at least I'll have a sledgehammer in hand to release stress.
Should we talk about sledgehammer technique before you get started? Ya know, like, grip, stance, weight transfer, path...... We could start a new thread.

Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

Between the extreme wetness, 6 days of rain (Sunday to Friday am), physical issues (neck, shoulders, back), mental depression due to seasonal disorder, all resulting in limited interest at the moment, I have not played golf in a week. I think that's the longest layoff of the season for me. Was going...

Re: Mickey D's Portugese Style

Interesting. McDonald's persona does not seem to fit the architecturally-superior building within which it sits. I particularly like the eagle above the entrance, but the chandelier and stained glass are a bit over the top for a place known for a clown and good french fries. Obviously, that building...

Re: What's in your bag?

I know that there is at least one Titleist tour pro who plays FWs and Hybrids from an earlier generation but covers them with the latest Titleist headcovers. There are a helluva lot more than just one or two Titleist Tour pros who use the most recent headcovers on older equipment. It is a common pr...

Re: What's in your bag?

Has anyone upgraded their FW recently? I have been doing tons of research on a potential change in that position of my bag and was wondering if anybody here has considered, or is actually gaming, the Tour Edge Exotics EX10 or EX10 Beta. I was about to put the new Titleist TS2 or TS3 fairway into the...

Re: 2018 Fall Support Group

Nice post man. The Dougmeister is not just among the best posters here but of any golf board anywhere. That's very kind of you to say. I truly appreciate it. Thank you. I realize that like Doug, I am getting way ahead of myself here and this is still the autumnal support group. Guess I am just look...

2018 Fall Support Group

So, I guess summer is officially over. Time to start the 2018 fall support group. Summer was okay, I suppose. I had a decent one, golf-wise. Lots of rain and wet conditions hurt my distance over the period, but overall, I played respectable golf most days. I have been away from the forums the last f...

FANTASTIC!

I'm not sure what makes me more satisfied, the fact that he won (against the top 30 players on the PGA Tour this year, btw), or the fact that all the naysayers must eat their words:
"He'll CHOMP CHOMP never win CHOMP CHOMP again! SWALLOW"

:fu haters.

Re: Handicaps and Course Difficulty

Does this make sense at all, that it might be easier to improve on a difficult course than an easier one? For me, it has seemed that way, but probably for different reasons. My old course was rated at 133 slope from the blues. My present course is 137 from the blues. I went from playing a very toug...

Re: WTF did you shoot today?

Speaking of short game. I hit this to 6' when my goal was just to get it on the green. It's hard to see but the ball is settled down and I believe technically in the bunker here. Hard wet sand under the ball. Picture doesn't really do it justice. Hey JFish, saw the pic again today in your post abov...

Re: Putting tempo and putter weight

For me, putting is all feel. I try to take as much technical stuff out of it. I am a feel player in general. Not only driving and iron play, but putting as well. I usually have confidence in my ability to read greens. My first career was in art and design. I see nuances that are obvious to me that m...

Those are not the current wedges. Those are the previous model, SM6. See my post directly above for the link to the SM7s.

They do. Pics and descriptions of each grind. All the specs are there too.

Scroll down the page.

And I'm not sure what GBogey is talking about, but I don't know of a W grind. At least not in an SM7 or SM6.

Re: WTF did you buy today?

Maybe they are right and a medium bounce wedge is right for me. But my entire life I've played a high bounce 12+ degree wedge. I don't have issues hitting the ball with a wide open club face with 12-14 degrees of bounce. I like having a lot of bounce, to me bounce is like I'm cheating. It lets me h...
