Where would you live?

Okay, so I was daydreaming about having an endless supply of money (I'm sure you all have had that same dream) and started thinking about where I might want to live if that were the case. Golf, is a major consideration in the equation, but so is quality of life in general. Vacations, are not an issu...

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

Ariya had a rough start, but made a nice move up in the 2nd round. I'm counting on her to be in the mix by Sunday.

Re: Tiger Woods's Stinger

It's basically a punch shot. He uses a delofted 2 or 3 iron, or even sometimes a 3W, and lots of swing speed. Ball back in stance, hands ahead of clubhead well past impact. Very shallow path from inside, with little to no divot, so as not to create any additional backspin.

Re: 2018 LPGA thread

I don't usually make predictions but I based on this week's LPGA action, Ariya is your winner. She is playing very excellent golf head and shoulders above the rest. I am loving it, I think her swing is awesome. Ariya is always my favorite. I have been picking her to win nearly every time she plays ...

Re: Forced Carry - Thought Process

A forced carry is any area of course of substantial depth (distance front to back) which requires you make a good shot to clear it, or you lose the ball if you don't. So, a driver off the tee with 100 yards of wetlands between the tee and the first playable location typically rough) is a forced carr...

Re: Forced Carry - Thought Process

Funny, after playing my course for 3 years now, I hardly notice forced carries. HOWEVER, there are 13 or 14 of them, including 11 off of tee boxes. Some are quite long. If you ever play Worthington, make sure you have plenty of balls....and golf balls! :o

Re: Random thoughts

Geez, how are horseshoes not banned then? I played both Jarts and Horseshoes growing up on a regular basis. Loved Horseshoes and was pretty damn good at the game, until the right rotator cuff in my shoulder became a problem in my late 40s. (Though a righty, my left one went bad much earlier in life....

Re: The Open

I had a feeling before the day began that Molinari was going to be there at the end. He has been playing so well lately. Great ball striker and putting was not that difficult for the field in general, let alone him. He certainly putted good enough to win. He deserved it. Tiger is showing those who h...

He still has a shot tomorrow if the leaders don't get too far out in front. Course is playing pretty easy right now.

Hank Haney is picking Tiger, so I'm going with Tiger.
That's only 'cause I already picked Tiger. Hank always copies my picks.

Re: Poison Ivy - What would you do?

If the ivy was just like ground cover and I was actually playing well, I think I might have taken the Nike thermal arm sleeves I keep in my bag and tried to slip them over my ankles and up my calves as high as I could get them before stepping into the stuff. Then pray I don't send the oils of the iv...

Brian, that is impressive at that yardage. Actually, that is impressive in tournament play at any yardage. You've got my respect. Well done.

Thidapa Suwannapura, WORTHINGTON MANOR regular, WINS the LPGA Marathon Classic in a playoff over Brittney Lincicome! So proud of her, even though she has held me up on the course once or twice playing in the group ahead. I guess I can cut her some slack now. She has now qualified for the Women's Bri...

I miss baseball. Since I moved to Maryland, I can no longer get the Mets on TV daily. Instead I get the Nationals, the enemies of the Mets. No interest in watching them. As a result I have lost contact with the baseball world over the last few years. I don't know any of the new players, or who has b...

That's the Long Island I know. Hate that place. The whole fucking island, the shit-ass attitude and the Long Island accents that go along with it. I'm with you Beef. Alright, well, maybe everyone who lives there isn't THAT bad, but I'm pretty sure all most of those who support that orange-faced, nar...

Re: 2018 summer support group

I don't know if the slump is over because one good round does not mean much. But, today, my boys from CT arrived and I proceeded to play like I know I can. Shot a 76 from the blue tees. 2 of them played the white tees. None of them broke 90. If nothing else, I no longer feel I have to prove to them ...

Re: 2018 summer support group

Rough week out there, between the heat wave and my deep golf slump. Did not really enjoy my time on the course. Have not been playing true rounds the last 4 or 5 times out, but more just hitting shots trying to figure out what is wrong, while trying to enjoy those with whom I'm playing. My blond and...

Re: The World Famous Sir Nicholas Alexander Faldo Early Wrist-set Drill

For now I have moved on from an early-set feel. Doesn't diminish my appreciation for it, or this drill at all. I was a wayward soul, and it set me on the straight and narrow. I will still shout about it from the rooftop. Recently I am having more of a gradual set feel--takeaway feels more one-piece...

Re: 23 years 3 months 16 days

You got off cheaply. Sounds like luck was on your side not only for the ace (not that skill wasn't also involved), but for the fact that the bar at the course couldn't serve liquor 'til noon. It would have been a much bigger tab if it was full of golfers. No one knew at Twin Peaks. Or at least, no o...

Re: 2018 PGA Tour Thread

I have a good feeling about The Open and Tiger. I'd have an even better feeling if he did some serious pre-tournament recon. Personally, I think he should take his two kids for a two-week vacation over to Scotland and do some sight-seeing, feel good about the fam.....and play 8 or 9 rounds of golf a...
