Anyone Use the 6-8-10 Formula for Chipping ...
... or something similar? The 6-8-10 method refers to the 6 iron, 8 iron and pitching wedge (10). It compares flight in the air versus roll out. I rarely use anything less lofted than a 9 iron and tend to go with either a pitching wedge (lower & more roll) or my 56-degree sand wedge (higher &...

Re: What did you shoot today?
Better results today, 78. I was in my element. Cool (48 degrees), windy (10+ mph), drizzle/mist. Two birdies, no doubles. Of course, I was playing tees at 5,900 yards. The soggy turf gave me lots of long approach shots despite the short course. My short game was not sharp. Just could not get the chi...

Re: the Tiger thread
I think he announced plans to play in the Hero World Challenge in December. As with most announcements, he might change his mind based on health.

Re: PGA/LIV/DPW 2023
Watched a bit of the Ryder Cup. Really hard to summon up any emotion. A bunch of golf millionaires “playing for their country or continent.”

Re: Talk about your weather thread
October in the Mitten is not supposed to be sunny and 85 but that is what we’ve had the last couple days. Things will cool a bit but my hope is that El Niño deals us a good hand for late Fall and Winter.

Re: What did you shoot today?
85 with my first round since September 11. I hit the ball better than expected. Putted atrociously and my short game was marginal. A few more rounds and we will see whether my game comes back a bit.

Re: Hello from Sweden
Last boring photo from the recent trip. The Danes are nuts about Hans Christian Andersen. One of the few Danes anyone in the world knows outside of Denmark. It is apparently a tradition for Danes to pose with Hans in his home town of Odense. So as a tourist, I felt it was my duty to follow the trad...

Re: Hello from Sweden
While on Aero Island in Denmark, we took a side trip. Our original destination was a lighthouse. As it turned out, the lighthouse was attached to a golf club. IMG_0666.jpeg A view from the lighthouse looking down at the clubhouse IMG_0674.jpeg A view of a few seaside holes. The club has 18 holes, p...

Hello from Sweden
Day 3 into our 2 weeks in Sweden/Denmark. Very clean and orderly. Literally, almost no one uses cash. Everything is credit cards. No ATM’s anywhere in Stockholm.

Re: Things From The Golf Course
Yes, definite bulge in the middle. The Mitten has only a midget rattler to worry about. Goose poop is our biggest danger.
