Re: 2023-24 Winter golf support group thread

I have a Garmin R10. Embarrassed to say but it is over a year old and I still really haven't gotten into it. One of these days.

Re: 2023-24 Winter golf support group thread

I wish we had some of that sim shit around here. I have not seen one in anywhere in this whole county. My local range gets swampy from anything more than an inch of rain. So I miss a good number of days throughout the wet season. Suppose I should use this time off to work on my backyard simulator st...

Re: 2023-24 Winter golf support group thread

Rained out here lately. But looks like next week we'll be in shorts again. That's right. I like wearing shorts now. I am as surprised as you.

Re: Wrap Up - 2023

It was a banner year for me. I whacked a *lot* of balls. Let's do some rough math. I estimate my weekly average at 600, or five large buckets. I did not miss many days last year, and certainly did not miss any full weeks. So that's around 30,000 balls.I am guessing there are no available statistics ...

Re: the Tiger thread

I am engrossed in the golf channel Tiger Day. 2019 Masters. 43yo pre-crash Tiger was pretty sensational, as rickety as he was back then. Swing was still pretty zippy. Watching now I am struck by how relaxed and happy he was that week. He even fist bumped fans, like thirty of em, after the third roun...

Re: the Tiger thread

Happy Tiger Day everyone. Only bringing this up because I saw this morning that the so-called golf channel is back to commemorating the occasion. I am old enough to remember the good old days, back before Tiger became scandalous. Back then they would celebrate the entire goddamn week, re-airing clas...

Re: 2023-24 Winter golf support group thread

FWIW, I spent 20 minutes last night on a Sunrise/Sunset website that I use to plan golf tee times. Around Charleston, sunset bottomed out last week at 5:15. We are already back to 5:18, although we won't make 6:00 until mid-February. My old neighborhood in NJ was 4:31. Ojai, BTW, a miserable 4:45. ...

Re: 2023-24 Winter golf support group thread

Please nobody move to the very westernmost edge of your timezone just to get some extra twilight holes in. It is a devil's bargain. Not a lot of people know this. But whatever extra daylight you get at the end of the day, you lose from the morning.
